Remember our last blog post about about What is CI/CD observability (https://lnkd.in/dENjszbU)? This time we do it again, with our efforts being focused on CD Observability and specifically around DORA metrics! We hope this can be of some help to people who want to improve their software/service deployment in terms of velocity, stability and reliability. Please let us know what you think! P.S: Always fun to work on stuff like this with a person like Horst Gutmann! #grafana #dora #cd #observability
Building on existing efforts to improve CI/CD observability, a Grafana Labs hackathon team built a POC for extracting DORA metrics from CD workflows. #observability #grafana #dora

🤖 I did a thing! I combined two still images of both John Willis and Patrick Debois to create this little face-morphing video loop using Luma AI's Dream Machine. This was done for their upcoming "GenAI for DevOps Engineers" workshop in Austin, Texas. 🛠️ The video consists of four separate 4-second clips, creating the following effect: 1) "John talking": (Input: Still image of John; Loop: On) 2) "John morphing into Patrick": (Input: Still image of John as start frame; Still image of Patrick as end frame) 3) "Patrick's idle stance": (Input: Still image of Patrick; Loop: On) 4) "Patrick morphing into John": (Input: Still image of Patrick as start frame; Still image of John as end frame) #LumaLabs #AI #GenAI

Announcing a two day genAI workshop for DevOps, DevSecOps and other software engineers together with John Willis ! The first of its kind will take place in Austin, Texas 12-13 September 2024 . Early bird registration ends 26th of August, places are limited to be quick. We've both been passionate about the intersection between DevOps and GenAI. So we figured we turn this into a workshop ! So if you want to learn more on the topics, this is your chance. No need to understand all the math, we get you going with code and explain things in traditional software engineering concepts. You can find all the details and registration via https://lnkd.in/eVnhSm6d . See you there ! P.S. If you'd want this workshop delivered in house in your company, we'd be more than happy to discuss. Special Kudos to Pieter Debois for his mad AI video editing skill and making this cool video from merely our two headshot images.

Day 1 of 21 days of Observability Logging is like keeping a journal 🚀 Imagine keeping a journal of your daily activities, including what you did, when you did it, and how it turned out. Logging works similarly, recording events and activities in your system, allowing you to analyze and learn from them. Stay tuned for understanding Observability in the simplest form♻️ #21daysofOlly #observability #nsd #devops #logging

𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙢𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙝! 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙄/𝘾𝘿 𝙋𝙞𝙥𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 In the world of DevOps, few things are as sacred as the 𝗖𝗜/𝗖𝗗 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. It’s the lifeblood of continuous deployment, the unshakable pillar of automation, and for many developers, it’s nothing short of a digital deity. Enter the 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 40𝘬 𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘳: much like the Tech-Priests of Mars revere the Omnissiah, developers worship the CI/CD pipeline with the same fervor. Just like a Tech-Priest oils the gears of the ancient machine spirits and chants sacred litanies to keep things running smoothly, developers push their code with a similar sense of ritual. It’s a careful process—committing code, testing it, and offering it up to the pipeline gods in hopes that it will pass through the stages unscathed. But just like any machine spirit, the pipeline can be temperamental. One misstep, one broken test, and it turns from a benevolent force into a vengeful one, rejecting your offering and spitting out error logs like prophecies of doom. When things go wrong, it’s panic mode. Debugging sessions become frantic prayers, and every developer starts checking logs like they're searching for hidden scriptures that might reveal the pipeline’s wrathful secrets. But much like the Adeptus Mechanicus, we don’t lose faith. We dive back into the code, we troubleshoot, we rerun the tests, and eventually, we get the green light. The pipeline gods have been appeased, and production is saved. So next time you push code into the pipeline, say a quiet "For the Omnissiah!" and trust that your tests—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘴—are on your side. Because in the world of CI/CD, automation is divine, and the pipeline is our temple. #DevOps #CI/CD #Warhammer40k #Automation #CloudComputing #Omnissiah #Kubernetes #TechHumor #OpsLife #ContinuousIntegration

🚀 Embarking on a New Journey in Observability! 🚀 I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve started my learning journey in observability with the brilliant Abhishek Veeramalla! His first lecture in the "Observability Zero to Hero" series was incredibly insightful, covering essential concepts that are fundamental to mastering observability. 🌟 Here’s what was covered: 🔹 Introduction to Observability: Understanding its importance in modern DevOps. 🔹 The 3 Pillars of Observability: 1. Metrics: Critical performance indicators to monitor system health. 2. Logs: Essential for debugging and tracing issues. 3. Traces: For tracking the lifecycle of requests in distributed systems. 🔹 Monitoring vs. Observability: Key differences and why both are essential. 🔹 Popular Observability Tools: --> Prometheus: For monitoring and alerting. --> Grafana: For data visualization. --> Jaeger: For distributed tracing. Abhishek’s ability to simplify these complex topics into actionable insights has been incredibly motivating. I’m excited to dive deeper and apply these concepts to enhance my skills and contribute effectively in the field of observability! #Observability #DevOps #LearningJourney #Metrics #Tracing
