Exciting opportunity to join the One Welfare Phoenix Project!!! This project sits under section 1 of the wider One Welfare Framework and aims to support the sustainable development goals and global reduction of violence by supporting the production and dissemination of practical guides to professionals to help identify and report the link between animal and human abuse and neglect, including the relation to their environment. The project is designed to bring together collective expertise across the world to develop global free access guidance for veterinary, medical and social services professionals as well as the public on section 1 of the One Welfare Framework, the link between animal and human abuse and neglect, providing a flexible space for local contacts, to be built into the guidance by local groups. We are looking for 3 new Board members with a passion for One Welfare and relevant experience of the Project subject matter. The positions are part time and voluntary. Applicants should have relevant professional qualifications and experience in one or more of the following fields: veterinary, medicine, social work, academia, civil society. Applications would be particularly welcome from individuals with additional legal, fund raising and communications skills and also from regions currently under-represented on the Board (Europe [outside UK and Spain], Asia, Africa, Australasia). Innovative Monitoring System Improves Calf Welfare and Farm Productivity Through Real-Time Data

Occasionally, when reading about welfare issues in animals, you come across a statement something like this: "Death is not a welfare issue." Others have challenged this in much greater depth than I can, but here's a quick summary of my issues with this statement: Death might not be, but methods of killing usually are, to some degree. They may be justified as the least possible harm, but we still have to recognise that the experience of even the most considered euthansia process is still likely to be distressing to animals. There are situations such as convenience or management euthanasia where the animal still has the potential to live a good life, if the situation were different. This means that we are removing potential positive future welfare. Some may find that too speculative, but it is a very common argument against euthanasia of humans. While I firmly believe that euthanasia is the best welfare option in many cases, I think that statements like this perhaps oversimplify a more complex reality.

Human is a social animal, its central point should be Public Welfare (Lok Kalyan). Public Welfare is a service towards society of every individual. It is also a duty (dharma). Talk about the missing nature welfare among nations. For societies to succeed, socialism, capitalism, and welfare for nature are essential. We advocate for development that balances human needs with nature welfare. Developing nations typically start with socialism or capitalism, whereas developed nations have adopted capitalism. Yet, full development is only achieved by nations that prioritize nature welfare. It is fortunate that learning languages and learning culture are not the same. Many people are confused about this, assuming that language skills are equivalent to cultural knowledge. However, knowing a language does not automatically mean absorbing the culture, including toxic aspects of it. We support development in harmony with nature welfare. The world's problems arise from a missed balance of harmony between progression and animal welfare.
