I delayed writing about the 2nd International Scientific conference in Poland that I recently had the pleasure of presenting at until I was back at my desk, which I now am. I won’t lie, I am already missing the European summer… my brain is still trying to wrap itself around the fact that we went from lovely and hot to freezing cold and so many layers of clothing that I can barely move. First, I’d like to say thank you to Andrzej Kinteh-Kłosiński, Beata Leszczyńska, Piotr Leszczynski, Ewa Pasikowska, Magdalena Michałek, and the COAPE Polska and Krakow University teams for hosting and taking such good care of me during the weekend’s events. (Beata, you deserve a special thank you for keeping me upright on that ladder!) The conference was such fun. I met a whole lot of amazing people and enjoyed myself thoroughly listening to the other wonderful lecturers. The topics that were covered were great, the audience interactions were brilliant, and the event was a resounding success. I also had the pleasure of holding the Polish translation of Mood Matters for the first time – I am simply blown away that my first book has already been translated into two languages! For me, it never gets old being at a conference in person surrounded by like-minded people who share your passion about animal emotions – it’s like Christmas. And much like Christmas, I received a gift from the Polish CAPBT that left me speechless. I am having this framed and it’s going on the wall, for sure.
