What makes winning company cultures? One of the cornerstones of building and nurturing a sense of belonging, is recognition. Acknowledging the amazing work our team does, especially through peer-to-peer recognition, ensures every member feels valued, boosts morale, strengthens team bonds and increases productivity. This quarter, we reimagined our Pando Rewards Program and to amplify this culture of recognition, we partnered with EngageWith by SpringWorks. This tool has helped gamify recognitions and empowers our employees to give shoutouts to their colleagues for exceptional work and helpful contributions. By tying these shoutouts to specific company values, we reinforce the behaviours we want to see in our team 💛 It’s heartening to see that within 4 weeks of the launch of our new RnR Program, 192 recognitions have been made across the organisation! 🔥 It’s even more exciting to witness our team members climbing the leaderboard week after week 🏅 The positive impact is undeniable, with personalised GIFs, instant recognitions and reward redemptions. Early in my entrepreneurial journey, every time I filled a role,  my husband would buy me a little bottle of  Moet Champagne to celebrate. It became a tradition, a way to acknowledge the hard work and dedication that goes into every successful placement. But as time went on (and after we had a baby!), the celebrations became simpler—like a nice dinner out or even just treating ourselves to a piece of cheesecake or just buying myself a special coffee before work. What hasn’t changed, though, is the importance of celebrating each win. In this fast-paced industry, it’s easy to move on to the next thing without stopping to appreciate the effort and dedication that led to success. But taking a moment to celebrate reminds us of how far we've come and keeps us motivated for the journey ahead. Thank you UpWest, Aya Neeman and Gil Ben-Artzy for the opportunity to share my thoughts on one of most boring yet important topics - employee performance evaluation and management. I feel so strongly about this topic because of the joy it brings me when it's done right. How do you do it the right way? 1. Have empathy - most people want to do a good job. Think about how you can help them grow and excel at their job as opposed to simply evaluating them. 2. Reverse engineering - instead of evaluating at the end of the year, think about how you want to see your employees grow a year from now at the beginning of the year. 3. Set clear expectations - most startups struggle with it, so they do not do it at all, while corporates over-do it. Contact me if you want tips on how to get this done efficiently. 4. Finally - aim high! By aiming for a bell curve team where the majority of your team is in the mean of your evaluation criteria, you will end up with a mediocre team. Aim for an L curve where the majority of your team members are over performing.
