This month, CLX Logistics Bahamas has been busier than ever, taking strides toward strengthening logistics and trade across The Bahamas and beyond. Here's what we’ve been up to: Supporting Trade Diversification: We proudly participated in the Bahamas Government Trade Diversification Program spearheaded by Senator Barry N. Griffin. At a townhall with small business owners, we shared insights on consolidating shipments and importing from new source markets to reduce freight costs—empowering Bahamian businesses to thrive. On the Big Screen: We were honored to join Senator Griffin on A Closer Look with Ewurabena Damoah Appiah on Cable 12. We discussed the exciting initiatives aimed at driving down costs for Bahamians and fostering collaboration among business owners. Strengthening Regional Supply Chains: We’ve been actively working to establish trade routes between Trinidad and Tobago and The Bahamas, tapping into their incredible variety of locally produced food products. Our discussions with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association have been fruitful, and we’re excited about the collaborations ahead. Introducing L.O.R.E.: Logistics Optimized Real Estate (L.O.R.E.) is our latest service designed to streamline deliveries to private cays and resorts. From construction materials to daily supplies, we ensure cargo is delivered efficiently and on time, so you can focus on your projects. Expanded Air Freight Services: We’ve increased air freight into Nassau to five days a week to keep up with growing demand. Businesses can now enjoy faster shipments and smoother supply chains, with export services connecting them to global markets. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and deliver exceptional service. Let’s build a stronger, more connected Bahamas together! #CLXLogistics #TheMove #TradeDiversification #Innovation #CaribbeanLogistics #SupplyChainSolutions #Bahamas #Bahamassupplychain

For Jamaica to take its place as a world-class logistics hub, private and public sector interests, at a panel discussion on the future of Jamaica as a logistics hub, agreed that the land surrounding the port should be better utilised. Citing a Market Analysis and Master Plan conducted by US consultancy firm Nathan Associates, Jeffrey Hall, chairman of Kingston Wharves Limited and deputy chairman and CEO of Pan Jamaica Group Limited, said optimal use of the port lands may result in some displacement. “We are not going to be able to recreate ocean frontage. That’s not a problem that anybody here can do something about. But we can do something about how we use the land that’s available to us and how we zone it,” he said, during a panel discussion on Jamaica’s logistics future. Patricia R. Francis CD, chairman of the Trade Facilitation Task Force, sited improvements in trade facilitation indicators. However, she indicated that more work had to be done to reduce the costs of imports and exports and the turnaround time on shipments for Jamaica to become more competitive. https://lnkd.in/e2EZEA4F

Some great shipping market dynamics boding well for volumes and developments of ports in Central and South America. This new service by CMA CGM and ONE linking U.S. East Coast Port of Virginia to ports in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, and Panama. comes hot on the heels of MSC decision to use Jacksonville JAXPORT as the U.S. East Coast port of call on their newly constructed Ecuador-NWC and the epic Scan Baltic-USA service stretching from Klaipeda (Lithuania) to Puerto Bolivar (Ecuador). This is extremely good news for the South American shippers, especially those focusing on cold chains/chilled (not frozen) fresh products. Direct services create faster routes to markets, and chilled products have much better margins than frozen products. The expansion of carrier direct services linking any major port on U.S. East Coast bodes well for ports in Central and South Americas investing in terminal expansions with en eye on the reefer trade and development of cold chain logistics handling facilities. #shipping #maritime #supplychains #coldchain #logistics

This collaboration underscores the growing importance of the Asia-Latin America trade route and the commitment of industry leaders to meet the evolving needs of customers. The new service will consist of two separate loops, each operated by a fleet of modern container ships, facilitating efficient and reliable transportation between the regions. With the first loop set to commence from Tianjin on May 5th and the second loop from Shanghai on May 10th, businesses can expect enhanced connectivity and faster transit times. "#Equipment is also failing at South African #ports, and compounding the problem is that MSC, the largest #carrier out of the Far East to South Africa, has decided to allocate its bigger #vessels to trade between the Far East and Europe. This has cut about 4,000 TEU of volume from the Far East to South Africa," says Nicoleen Nielson, Trade Lane Manager for Ocean at Bidvest International Logistics. #retail #imports #exports #ports #cargo #shipping #marine #supplychain
