🙋♂️ Hi PostgreSQL users. Creating multiple users in a database, each with the same privileges—like read-only access to schema tables—can be hard when done manually, especially ensuring each user has a secure password. To streamline this process, I made a script that automates user creation. This script not only simplifies the task of creating multiple users but also ensures that each user is set up securely and consistently, adhering to best practices for managing database access. By using this script, you can efficiently create multiple users with secure passwords and assign them the same privileges, saving you time and ensuring consistency. ### Understanding Shutdown Types in Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL Each database management system has specific methods for shutting down to ensure data integrity and prevent corruption. Here's a comparison of the shutdown types available in Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL: #### **Oracle** **1. Shutdown Normal:** - Waits for all users to disconnect. - No new connections are allowed during the shutdown process. **2. Shutdown Immediate:** - Disconnects all active users immediately. - Rolls back active transactions and shuts down the database. - Ensures a consistent state without waiting for users to disconnect voluntarily. **3. Shutdown Transactional:** - Waits for all active transactions to complete. - Does not allow new transactions to start. - Once all transactions are completed, it proceeds to shut down. **4. Shutdown Abort:** - Forces an immediate shutdown without waiting for transactions or users. - May leave the database in an inconsistent state. - Requires instance recovery on the next startup. #### **MySQL** **1. Shutdown:** - Standard shutdown command. - Waits for all current transactions to complete. - Closes connections gracefully. **2. Shutdown Fast:** - Forces an immediate shutdown. - May leave unfinished transactions. - Similar to Oracle’s Shutdown Abort. **3. Shutdown NOW:** - Similar to Shutdown Fast. - Forces an immediate shutdown without waiting for transactions to complete. #### **SQL Server** **1. Shutdown:** - Normal shutdown process. - Waits for all ongoing transactions to complete. - Prevents new connections. **2. Shutdown with NOWAIT:** - Forces an immediate shutdown. - Active transactions are rolled back. - Can leave the database in an inconsistent state, requiring recovery. **3. Shutdown with NO_WAIT:** - Forces an immediate shutdown without waiting for transactions. - Similar to NOWAIT but used in scripting and automated processes. #### **PostgreSQL** **1. Smart Shutdown (pg_ctl stop -m smart):** - Waits for all active clients to disconnect. - New connections are prevented. - Graceful shutdown ensuring data consistency. **2. Fast Shutdown (pg_ctl stop -m fast):** - Terminates active client sessions immediately. - Rolls back active transactions. - Ensures the database is in a consistent state. **3. Immediate Shutdown (pg_ctl stop -m immediate):** - Forces a shutdown immediately. - Does not wait for transactions to roll back. - Leaves the database in a potentially inconsistent state. - Requires recovery on the next startup. #Oracle #MySQL #SQLServer #PostgreSQL #DatabaseManagement #ShutdownTypes #DataIntegrity #DBA #DatabaseAdministration #CloudComputing

Choosing the Best Database for Financial Projects: PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL? When selecting a database for financial projects, it's essential to consider performance, scalability, and security. Here's a quick look at the options: 🔹 PL/SQL: Best for Oracle-based systems with strong transaction handling and security. Ideal for complex financial tasks. 🔹 PostgreSQL: A flexible, open-source option with advanced features and great for financial analytics. 🔹 Other Databases: MySQL works for smaller workloads, but may not suit heavy financial applications. 🔹In My Recent Project I was tasked with optimizing a financial database system to handle complex operations. The key challenge was selecting the best database to ensure high performance, security, and compliance. Solution 🔑PL/SQL: Chose for reliable transactions, data integrity, and security. Perfect for Oracle-based systems. ⚡Optimized Performance: Used bulk processing to speed up reporting times. 🔒Security: Implemented role-based access control (RBAC) and encryption for compliance. 💡Result The system became more scalable and supported real-time analytics with minimal latency, fully meeting financial compliance. #FinancialTechnology #Oracle #PLSQL #OraclePLSQl #GITHUB #GITLAB #UNIX #LINUX #SHELLSCRIPTING #JIRA #DataAnalytics #DataEngineering #Python #DataStage #PowerBI #RealTimeData #Scalability #StreamingData #PySpark #python #AWS #Azure #GCP #Retail #BigData #CloudComputing #DataPipelines #SparkSQL #DataAutomation #TechCareers #PySpark #RealTimeData #SrITRecruiter #TechnicalRecruiter #SeniorTalentAcquisitionSpecialist #GlobalTechRecruiter #TalentAcquisition #USOpportunities #usaitjobs #vendors #cincinnati #c2c #corptocorp
