💬 Clinical Research Colleagues, let's chat! As we get to the pointy end of this project, I wanted to do a call out for anyone who may not have had a chance to complete the survey yet but would be open to share your thoughts and opinions as part of my PhD thesis: The Feasibility of the Decentralised Clinical Trial (DCT) model in Australia. I am wanting to assess the acceptability, demand and integration of the DCT model by Participants, Investigators, Sponsors, and other Key Stakeholders. What will you need to do? We will ask you to complete an online questionnaire, If you opt into phase 2 an interview or focus group will be done via a telephone or Zoom call. We are asking for your experiences and opinions and therefore, there are no right or wrong answers. It is ok (and expected!) that you will not have experience in everything you will be asked about. I would be so grateful for your contributions to the project. For more information head to: https://bit.ly/DCTproject If you are happy to share with your colleagues, patients/participants, or their caregivers, then let me know in the comments below or via DM and I will share additional images with you! (thank you!) This study has been approved by the University of Queensland with HREC approval 2024/HE000078

Highlighting this work led by my colleague, Will Cragg, about developing resources for participants who withdraw from clinical trials. Stopping participation can be a tough process for participants. People have reported feeling 'abandoned', or find it difficult to communicate reasons for stopping participation, or communication from research staff about what happens as a result of stopping participation, makes it more difficult. But the work hadn't really been explored in depth, and we found that sometimes participants can be excluded from important communications like study results without clear justification. A co-developed resource to provide support to research participants who stop taking part was produced. I really enjoyed being involved, particularly being led by Will and watching him manage this project with a group of public contributors whose experience and skills were essential to informing the direction of the work. Have a read and check out the PeRSEVERE website, developed by Will, for guidance and resources for handling end of participation https://lnkd.in/e__Fr-9U Full paper here: https://lnkd.in/e4MJn39S #trialconduct #ppie #clinicaltrials #research
