I'll talk about solar to anyone that will listen. I'm pretty sure my friends are sick of me talking about. It really has been great for us. I'm so impressed. My name's Jess. I live in Marrickville in Sydney with my partner and two young kids and the renovated our houses in 2021 and we added a big solar array and it's great. So when we were designing the house, I really wanted it to be as efficient as possible. Prior to our renovation, we were heating and basically uninsulated house with the gas heater and it was still freezing. So we had quite a big electricity bill and a big gas bill because all that energy was just leaching out of the house. After I've been really impressed with the energy bills. Now we've done the renovation, we've got two kids. We use the energy, we use the air conditioner, we use everything. Washing, drying and doing a lot of chores around the house. I just like knowing that I can do all those sort of chores. I'm not paying for it because the soul is giving us all the energy. Our habits have changed using energy. When we're getting the most solar input and it was installed, the solar installer set us up with an app which I found really easy to use. You can see within that app the energy use getting fully covered by the solar use, even with energy costs going up and up, doesn't seem to hit us as much as it was before our renovation. I think getting solar for us is also been investments. In our kids and in the future. I think about the future and the climate a lots, particularly with two small children, which is part of the reason we didn't all and it sort of felt like it was the least we could do. Australia should be leading the way where a sunny country, it makes sense. It helps people having more conversations, putting more pressure on the government. I hope that there would be more people educating themselves about what's happening and what they can do and just encourage more people to install solar.
