This #GivingTuesday, I invite you to be part of something meaningful: helping women and youth in Haiti create brighter futures through Atelier Tisaksuk. Read more about our work here: www.ateliertisaksuk.org Your donation directly supports transformative programs that make a tangible impact: • Training and Opportunities: Donations fund materials, trainers, and safe training spaces where participants learn skills like sewing, leatherwork, and other artisanal crafts, opening doors to new opportunities. • Civic Education: Contributions enable us to provide education on rights and responsibilities, empowering participants to advocate for themselves and drive positive change in their communities. • Safe Spaces: Support helps maintain safe spaces like Maison Claire Heureuse, where women and girls who have endured abuse or hardship can find refuge, learn, and grow. Whether you’re able to make a one-time donation, become a monthly donor, or simply spread the word, your involvement is invaluable: • Small Donations, Big Impact: Even $20 can cover materials for sewing classes, while $50 could provide warm meals during training sessions. • Monthly Giving: Becoming a monthly donor creates sustained support, helping us plan and expand our programs to reach even more women and youth. • Spread the Word: Can’t donate today? Share this post with friends and family or follow us on social media. Every share helps bring visibility to our mission and amplifies our impact in #Haiti. Thank you for being part of this journey toward #empowerment.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in transforming lives in Haiti. Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, where we reflect on the history and ongoing impact of residential schools and honour those who were, and continue to be, affected by colonization. The Forum continues to stand in solidarity with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, and recognizes that reconciliation begins by acknowledging the past, amplifying Indigenous voices, and committing to supporting the calls to action. On this day, we encourage you to reflect, listen, and learn from the past as we all work together towards building a more equitable future. If you know any additional resources, ways to donate, or Indigenous-owned businesses to support, please leave them in the comments below. #TruthandReconciliation

Yesterday was Fragile X Awareness Day - the 10th day of the 10th month = XX Getting our son's diagnosis was brutal and it felt like he was being written off. The picture we were drawn of his life was bleak and didn't offer much hope. Hundreds of appointments to confirm how broken he was and how little there was to do to fix him followed. Not a single appointment focussed on his strengths. How intuitive he is. How great at reading people. How kind. How good with technology. It broke us. It broke our hearts. And yet, without his diagnosis derailing our lives, I wouldn't be doing the work that I do today that makes a difference to so many others. I wouldn't be passionately trying to share practical ways of making workplaces feel safer and more accessible for neurodivergent people. I wouldn't be able to support so many people to understand and overcome their anxiety. I wouldn't be the mother of the boy who steals the hearts of everyone he meets and makes me want to make the world a better, kinder, more educated place that supports people with differences and the people to care for them. The route we planned was different to the one we've taken. It hasn't always been easy. The problem isn't raising a child with a learning difference. The problems are fighting a system that seems hell-bent on creating barriers to access and success for people like our son. The problem is a society that sees difference through the lens of problems and fault, not opportunity and potential. I hope this paper goes some way in teaching those making diagnoses kinder, and to present parents with a more hopeful view. To Fragilextrordinary families everywhere - we've got this. #fragilexsyndrome #fragilexawareness #potentialnotproblems #fragilexcarrier #fragilex #fullmutation #premutationcarrier #geneticsyndrome #autism #differentnotless
