I finally figured out the difference between right leaning and left leaning "news" websites and publications... The content is essentially just inverted. FOX = Right-Leaning Stories are at the top and bold and left-leaning stories are small and at the bottom. CNN = Left-Leaning Stories are at the top and bold and right-leaning stories are small and at the bottom. #soannoying

Alright, everyone settle down! I just listened to Brian York (Agora's CMO) absolutely rip apart the concept of "Niche Ideas" in an interview. He basically spoke about how they remain the backbone of #financialpublishing With big ideas, you're more likely to miss than hit – especially seeing how an idea is "big" until the results are in. But with niche ideas, you get better win rates, your readers/subscribers are happy and they pay you handsomely in return. 100% must watch if you do any kind of #writing for financial publishers or publications. Search for it on the Financial Marketing Summit channel on the app with the red and white logo.

Here is a self-editing process that works for me. I publish my newsletter with zero outside editors, and while I'm sure there have been a few mistakes, they are not consistent enough to be a problem. So here is what I do: 1. Write the initial draft, working to avoid basic grammar errors. Writers do run the risk of getting stuck overediting, but, with practice, it's not a problem. Writing high-quality sentences is itself a motivator for moving forward. 2. Copy/Paste the entire project into Grammarly and do a harsh rewrite. But make sure to avoid sounding like Grammarly's AI bot, which is a very real potential landmine. 3. Copy/Paste the project back into the original text editor and read again. Rewrite awkward sentences. 4. If possible, try to open a preview page and read the article in its published format. It's amazing how changing the font or delivery method can reveal simple grammatical errors. Don't rewrite at this point; catch mistakes. 5. Email yourself a copy to check the links. Don't read. You're just making sure the formatting works and the links are correct. 6. Read the piece one more time, but try not to edit unless you catch a very obvious mistake. 7. Enjoy the adrenaline rush of clicking publish! Here is my newsletter, I'd love a subscribe! https://lnkd.in/gaiWRcfd

An important best practice is to ensure that your headlines are attention-grabbing and accurately reflect the content of your article. A good headline will entice readers to click through to your article, while a bad headline will cause them to lose interest before they even start reading, leading to a lower clickthrough rate. #CTR #ClickThroughRate
