🎉 Thrilled to announce SBC's scooping of the Most Successful Science Park (Small) Award at #UKSPA40 Anniversary Awards last night with some strong players also in the running. Congratulations to everyone who took part and for a fantastic and insightful conference from UKSPA - The United Kingdom Science Park Association. With some fierce competition in the mix, we’re delighted to have been recognised for our dedication to creating the best environment for companies to #startup and #scaleup to deliver #healthinnovations improving the quality of people’s lives.” Since SBC opened in 2012: ⭐ Over 110 health innovation business have been based on the campus ⭐ Companies at SBC have raised more than £3.6 billion in funding ⭐ There have been 7 exits at SBC, totaling +£300 million in valuation on average per company in 8 years ⭐ Autolus Therapeutics, a spin-out from UCL (2014) manufacturing (CAR) T-cell therapies for cancer treatment, is one of SBC’s most successful exits: in less than ten years, the business has more than doubled its presence in Hertfordshire going from 45 staff to +300 in its newly built location in #Stevenage town centre.
