Thanks to Raymond James & Associates, Inc. for inviting me and Matthew Howard to contribute on water stewardship and compliance. When it comes to water, companies can find CSRD compliance intimidating. However, for those that plan ahead and complete the reporting process can unlock many opportunities, including lower operational costs in the use of water, energy, materials, and waste; improved transparency and trust; and stronger competitive advantage.
The Water Council’s WAVE program helps companies assess and prioritize risk in order to set enterprise-level water stewardship policy and targets that are directly responsive to how water is used and impacted where they operate.
Stakeholders can have confidence in the program, as it builds off globally recognized best practices advocated by WWF and WRI, among others, and aligns with CDP, GRI, and EU CSRD and CSDDD reporting frameworks.
In sum, when it comes to water, you will have confidence that you are doing the right things, at the right times, in the right places.
Feel free to contact me to learn more.

Had an informative meeting with Brian Thompson, CPCU, ARe and David S. of Descartes Underwriting.
Brian and David spoke about the innovative parametric solutions offered in this difficult property market. Natural catastrophe solutions are the main focus, but there are applications for construction, supply chain and agriculture.
The highlight was our discussion on ways to create bespoke solutions for most any need.

A good review. My observations over many years also show “certified” companies in BC have not met the certification standard of complying with all laws. They have seldom if ever, complied with the federal migratory bids convention act not to disturb nests or eggs from May until August across BC. Here’s a study on nest loss from industrial forestry
