Gumbi Gumbi traditional medicine research: Gumbi Gumbi is a native plant that has been cherished by First Nations people for generations as a medicinal remedy. CQUniversity researchers, in collaboration with Ghungalu Elder Uncle Steve Kemp, are exploring the plant’s antioxidant and cancer-fighting properties. We do science... we aren’t known as fundraisers. But as you can see, we are asking you to help us raise much-needed funds. It doesn't happen very often, but we figured now is a great time for you to donate. Last year we distributed over $10,000 worth of financial assistance to help students in need to travel to attend residential schools, take their offered place in a science extension squad and to travel overseas to represent Australia. So, we are asking all of you to help us fill the kitty for the year ahead. We would like to raise $12,486 by June 30. (It was 12,486 years ago that humans formed more complex societies and we like to think that was due to science.)
