Your people are likely ahead of your business.... "If you don’t figure out an organizational approach to AI, it is likely your people are already using it personally, quietly, without express permission. Some may be steadily moving ahead of where you are as a business. Ethan Mollick calls them the “secret cyborgs” in your organization. They’re getting huge personal value but don’t share what they’ve learned for fear of being stopped, or being put under pressure to deliver even more." By Lisa Carlin of The Turbochargers. Thanks for your update! Smart leaders get insights to further their AI strategies, and find out what employees are doing, what they are observing, doubting, avoiding, embracing, loving. Ask them what works, why, how, how to scale up? Ask what fails, what hurts, what's stupid, what went wrong, why? Ask what employees hope for, demand, need, expect. From leaders, from each other, from technology. What deliberate, open-ended questions to employees drive your thinking, reflections, and decision making processes as a leader? 💙 Nothing can replace your people's collaborative intelligence as a network 🌐. They might know better. Find out. Great advice Lisa to #leaders #leadership #businessleaders. We share here our model for leaders to unleash people's intelligence and creativity. #dialogue #openendedquestions #AI

Is AI taking over leadership? It's NOT There is fear in the unknown, and as we apporach a world where AI is consistently evolving, there is an upleveling of that fear based on lack of control. I think the approach is to understand it isn’t here to take over, it’s here to enhance what we do, and this is specifically true for leaders. When you view it as a tool that augments your abilities, the narrative shifts from fear to opportunity. Here’s how AI enhances leadership rather than detracts from it: One way to view this is how it amplifys Decision-Making: AI processes massive amounts of data faster than any human could, providing insights that are often hidden beneath the surface. This empowers leaders to make more informed decisions, while still relying on human intuition for final judgment. Just an enhancement. Not a takever. How do you use AI in your decision making? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Repost if you found it valuable. - I've been running a few lunch and learns for teams on leadership guidance, if you are interested please let me know, happy to provide that for you. Hey leaders, it's time to get comfortable with being vulnerable and curious. As AI continues to advance technologically and gain wider social acceptance, we need to think about how leaders will adjust to the new norm. It's important to note that we're probably not going to get it right all the time. Therefore, it's important to have both 1) systems in place and 2) attitudes of being able to respond -- without an expectation that everything is going to be perfect. We should advance with AI with the understanding that it will take adjustments along the way. And in doing so, we're going to trade confidence for curiosity. We're going to need to have leaders who are very curious about what is going on. "What am I missing? What are we not doing right? How does that work? How should we change it? What do other people have to say?" Yes, leaders are curious, but often, there is a stigma that if we express our curiosity, it will negatively impact how others view our confidence in our abilities. This is due to an overwhelming expectation that leaders should always be very focused and directive, and curiosity often looks very different than that. True progress will come from those willing to ask questions, acknowledge imperfections, and adapt to the complexities of AI, understanding that the path forward is one of exploration, rather than certainty. I'm ready. Are you? #leadership #changemanagement #artificialintelligence #AI #technology #teamwork #communication #strategy

AI’s transformation is happening gradually, then suddenly—and it’s not just about the technology. In the first article of my Change Management for AI-Ready series for Fast Company, I dive into why the true challenge lies in human-centered change and leadership. - Focusing on leadership requires a reboot of several concepts and understandings, including: - Leaders will be the ones who fear the new world the most. Acknowledge this. - Leaders will need to unlearn all they know. For real, for a fact, and completely. - The ones who don’t do it will be left behind in months, not years. - Leadership will be more about orchestration than directing. - The orchestration will be about humans and AI agents. Together. - Ambiguity will be part of the journey. - Fluidity of roles and responsibilities will be the norm, with AI agents too. - Leaders—a new type—will be more necessary than ever. What it takes to navigate this monumental shift in leadership and strategy? Join me in understanding this tipping point moment. #Ai #Leadership

Will AI replace management? The thought is not as far fetched as it may seem on first sight. And maybe it's not even as scary as it may seem. Used thoughtfully, AI ironically can help us to focus on what matters most in leadership: human-connection. 🤖 Instead of taking away time from creative work by collecting business data and composing reports, we can discuss the automatically generated results and what to do with them, based on the values we want to stand for in our company. 🤖 Instead of painful yearly performance reviews, where feedback comes way too late, we can have real-time, unbiased feedback on our work and then evaluate together what the most important fields for development are, based on individual and company needs and interests. There are many more examples - and challenges. It was an interesting journey putting them together for the talk at last years Forward by Management 3.0. If you want to watch the full talk, take a look at the link in Management 3.0 original post.
Imagine a world where AI doesn't just support leaders—it becomes one. This thought-provoking vision, inspired by Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba, challenges us to reconsider the role of AI in leadership. From Tesla's efficiency to HUGO BOSS's innovation, AI's potential to transform management practices is undeniable. 🤖 Humanity at the Core of AI Leadership Yet, as Katharina William showcased at the Forward by Management 3.0 Conference 2023, the future isn't about AI replacing humans. It's about leveraging AI to enhance our innate human strengths—empathy, creativity, and connection. 🌟 Embrace the Shift with Management 3.0 Adapt and thrive by integrating AI in ways that augment human leadership, not supplant it. Katharina's call to action encourages us to explore this synergy, preparing for a future where AI and human leadership coexist harmoniously. Want to watch the full recording? “Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together!” - Marilyn Monroe This quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of resilience and optimism, which are key to AI proficiency, 5.0 leadership, detailed strategies, and empathy. In AI proficiency, this quote reminds us that initial models or algorithms might not always yield the desired results. However, these ‘failures’ are often the stepping stones to developing more robust and efficient AI systems. 🤖 For 5.0 leadership, it signifies the importance of adaptability and the ability to see potential in every situation. Leaders should embrace change and challenges as they can lead to superior outcomes. 💼 When it comes to detailed strategies, the quote suggests that complex tasks might need to be broken down into smaller parts. These parts may not work initially but will produce more refined solutions upon reassembly. 🔍 Lastly, in terms of empathy, the quote reflects an understanding that progress sometimes requires difficult changes or letting go of what no longer serves us well. It’s about recognizing the human element in every situation. 💖 Your Turn! How do you interpret this quote in your professional journey? Have you experienced a moment where something fell apart leading to something even better coming together? #UKAIWWL #AIResilience #LeadershipGrowth #StrategicDevelopment #EmpathyInAI 🔄🔍💖

AI can make better decisions than leaders. Sounds shocking, right? With its ability to process endless data, AI seems unbeatable. But here’s the truth... Leadership is about more than just data. Sure, AI can predict trends, identify patterns, and crunch numbers faster than any human. But it lacks something essential. It doesn’t have the heart. Leadership isn’t just about cold, hard logic. It’s about empathy, vision, and understanding people. Would you trust a machine to make decisions about your team’s morale? About how to inspire your employees when times get tough? That’s where leaders come in. Leaders take risks, make emotional connections, and inspire trust. They bring creativity and intuition to the table – things AI simply can’t replicate. So, can AI make better decisions than leaders? Not when it comes to what really matters: leading people. #ai #leadership #creativity

𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐈'𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. Here's how. "Leaders who stop learning are leaders who stop leading." - Roy T. Bennett. Are you ready to lead the AI transformation? AI awareness needs to start from the top, not just the tech team. AI fluency isn't just about code. It's how leaders think, feel, and act with data and AI to make decisions. It's knowing the basics, using them, and leading by example. Don't leave AI to your tech experts thinking it's too complex. Big mistake! ❌ Understanding AI means seeing opportunities and avoiding risks. You don't need to code complex models. I recently attended a conference where AI was the key to unlocking efficiency, productivity, and leadership excellence. Yet, whilst AI is powerful, effective leadership needs more. In today's fast-changing world, where change is the only constant, emotional intelligence (EI) stands out as the cornerstone of effective leadership. But are leaders paying enough attention to their emotional intelligence? Here’s why I think it matters: Connection: In a digital world, connecting on a human level is vital. EI builds empathy and trust – critical for strong relationships and leadership. Adaptability: Leaders with high EI handle change better. They flex their approach relevant to the situation, manage their emotions, stay calm, and inspire confidence in their teams. Decision-Making: While AI can digest vast volumes of data and provide valuable insights, it's human judgment that ultimately drives decisions. Emotional intelligence enhances decision-making by considering not only data and logic but also the human impact of those decisions. Team Performance: Emotionally intelligent leaders foster cohesive, motivated teams. They create environments where everyone feels valued and works together to leverage each others strengths, boosting engagement and productivity. So let's not forget the importance of EI in leadership as we get curious and dive into AI's potential. ❤️ #EmotionalIntelligence #Leadership #AI #Efficiency #Productivity #Adaptability #Teamwork #womeninleadership #womenindata
