It’s #socialmobilityday. Here at CIPR Wessex, we know the PR industry is falling short in creating an inclusive environment, disproportionately attracting individuals from privileged backgrounds and perpetuating a cycle of inequality. The data reveals stark inequalities in PR, from the overrepresentation of practitioners educated at fee-paying schools to barriers in career progression for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Change is our shared responsibility. Let's nurture diverse talent, embrace inclusive practices, and lead by example to create an equitable PR industry representative of society. #change #socialmobility #PR #publicrelations #comms

In one of my previous posts, I explained how this works in German and since I also have my extensive international environment, I would like to share it in English, too. Today, I have 5 Dos and Don'ts for you, as democratic values should be projected externally to be attractive to applicants and other stakeholders as well as to highlight corporate responsibility for our society. 𝟓 𝐃𝐎’𝐬: ✔️ Develop a political stance democratically ✔️ Actively promote diversity and equality ✔️ Strengthen democratic attitudes ✔️ Continuously engage in open dialogues ✔️ Communicate thoughtfully 𝟓 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓𝐬: ✖️ Avoid pseudo-engagement ✖️ Allow racist insults to go unchallenged ✖️ Suppress diverse opinions ✖️ Develop extreme political positions ✖️ Ignore societal developments You can find the full article in the new magazine by Magazin Human Resources Manager. 🌟 Starting My Journey in DE&I Advocacy 🌟 Hi Everyone, After much reflection and research, I've discovered my passion within DE&I: advocating for an inclusive culture where everyone feels respected and can truly be themselves. While I’m just beginning my journey, I’m excited about the many possibilities this industry holds and what we could do together. To me, inclusivity isn’t just a concept; it’s a commitment we must make. As a newcomer to this field, here’s what I plan to do and aspire to achieve one day: 1. Mutual Listening: - Hosting forums and workshops to share our stories and perspectives. - Creating listening circles so everyone’s voice is genuinely heard. - Pairing people together to encourage mutual learning. 2. Breaking Stereotypes: - Introducing concepts of social & conscious inclusion to raise awareness of biases we may not realise we have. - Promoting inclusive language to foster respect in all interactions and reduce assumptions and stereotypes. Inclusivity starts with each of us, and the beauty of DE&I is that there will always be something new to learn. I’m eager to grow in this space and hopefully, one day, contribute to making our communities more inclusive for everyone. #diversityandinclusion #leadership #inclusion #diversity

Global and democratic institutions are losing relevance because they fail to adapt. Fact: employee-led advocacy is now essential for building genuine connections with audiences. Steps to Implement: -retrain your employees: equip them with modern communication skills. -allow and encourage them to lead in communications. Because authentic voices matter. Today, audiences prefer genuine employee narratives over impersonal institutional statements. #AfD #politics #PR #communications #impact
Co-founder MPACTIFY | Empowering impact organizations through founder and employee led advocacy by leveraging modern communication
"Real men are right-wing"! This is how Maximilian Krah of AfD communicates with young Germans. He understands the audience, their pain points, and their mindset, and most importantly, how to capture their short attention spans. He uses less: - Formalities - Corporate jargon Instead, in just 21 seconds, he: - Jumps straight to the pain point - Speaks in informal language - Addresses the individual directly with a casual tone, using "you" Other AfD politicians like Alice Weidel, Tino Chrupalla, Ulrich Siegmund, and Sebastian Münzenmaier follow similar strategies. Their content is emotionally engaging, easily digestible, and effectively resonates with young audiences. They grasp the power of leader and employee-led advocacy. They understand that today’s audience is more interested in people than institutions. This strategy has helped them triple their support among young people since 2021. #politics #PR #communications

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀…🙌🌎 Diversity and inclusion within companies, business schools and in the media has become a much wider discussion over recent years, and rightly so. Whilst there is still a long way to go, every step taken is a step closer to equity. A business education should bring so much more than just a degree. It should bring real life experiences, connections, and understanding. There are many different ways that business school communications can promote their diversity and inclusion efforts. One such way is through their PR. 📢 📰 Good PR will give your school the chance to show off all of the work that is being done to benefit society and your students. But promoting your diversity and inclusion efforts is not as simple as just writing an article about what your school is doing. Our PR Consultant Georgina Tierney explores how and why diversity and inclusion communications is important for your business school.💡 If your school champions itself on its diversity and inclusion efforts, never stop encouraging necessary change. "Where lies the honor in forbidding open debate and choice of candidates? In today's society, it's common to see individuals and organizations restricting the freedom of expression and limiting the options available to their followers. People are often afraid of hearing alternative viewpoints and are quick to silence those who dare to challenge the status quo. But I ask you, where lies the honor in such actions? By stifling open debate and limiting the choices available to us, we are not only depriving ourselves of the opportunity to learn and grow, but we are also perpetuating a culture of conformity and groupthink. We are essentially saying that one perspective is the only valid one, and that any other viewpoints are not worthy of consideration. But the truth is, diversity of thought and opinion is what makes us strong and resilient. It's what allows us to challenge each other's assumptions and to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems. By embracing open debate and providing a platform for diverse perspectives, we can foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, where everyone feels valued and heard. So, let us break free from the shackles of conformity and embrace the power of open debate and choice. Let us create a society where everyone can express their opinions without fear of retribution, and where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the conversation. For it is only through open and inclusive dialogue that we can truly reach our full potential as individuals and as a society. #OpenDebate #DiversityOfThought #Inclusivity #Respect"

As our world grows increasingly interconnected, the distinction between cultural appreciation and appropriation becomes more critical to understand and navigate. By approaching cultural exchange with respect, seeking understanding and consent, and engaging in genuine dialogue, we can celebrate our diverse world's cultures in a way that enriches us all. In doing so, we honor the beauty and depth of these cultures and support a more inclusive, equitable, and understanding society. #culturalappreciation #culturalappropriation #diversity #inclusion #respect https://lnkd.in/gGYr9Nc2
