The NBRACER 3rd General Assembly Concludes with Exciting Insights and Next Steps! 🌱🌍 After three days of intensive collaboration and exploration, we’ve officially wrapped up the NBRACER 3rd General Assembly in Santander, Spain! This assembly has been an invaluable opportunity to look back on our first year of progress and set ambitious goals for the future of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in Europe. We were able to see how innovative approaches to flood prevention, ecosystem restoration, and green infrastructure are transforming landscapes and communities. From urban parks designed to manage stormwater and reduce flooding, to the restoration of riparian forests along the Saja River and green filters controlling erosion in forestry areas, these projects offered powerful examples of how NbS can tackle environmental challenges while delivering tangible benefits for both nature and people. We heard from our regional partners across Europe, each showcasing how they have implemented NbS to address their unique challenges. From Cantabria to Friesland, from Nouvelle-Aquitaine to Porto, we learned about the successes and challenges of each region, reinforcing the strength and diversity of our network. 💧 Through workshops and interactive sessions, we discussed how to enhance our collaboration and scale up the impact of NbS. The topics ranged from improving water management to fostering greater integration of nature-based approaches in urban planning. These discussions have provided us with actionable insights and a clearer vision for the next steps in our journey. This assembly has been a powerful reminder of the importance of nature-based solutions in building resilience, and we are more determined than ever to continue our work. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event such a success. 🌿💧 #NBRACER #ClimateAdaptation #NatureBasedSolutions #ClimateResilience #Sustainability #Cantabria #Europe #NBRACERES #RegionalCollaboration #EnvironmentalInnovation #AtlanticBiogeographicalArea Mindert De Vries- Deltares Sustainable Innovation Institute (SII)- CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency AcclimaTerra, MEOSS, Climate-KIC, CMCC Foundation - Centro Euro Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici, Provincie Fryslân - Aalborg Universitet, SMEAG - Syndicat Mixte d'Études et d'Aménagement de la Garonne - Klimatorium - Danmarks Internationale Klimacenter- Wageningen University & Research Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto | FCUP - Câmara Municipal do Porto - ICLEI Europe -Vlaamse Landmaatschappij - Sorbonne Universités - Parc naturel régional du Marais poitevin - CIMCávado - TECNALIA Research & Innovation - Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine - Redcambera - Ayuntamiento de Santander - FIHAC (Fundacion Instituto de Hidraulica Ambiental de Cantabria)- Provincie West-Vlaanderen VITO
