Universal Music Group (UMG) and Meta have just announced an expanded global, multi-year agreement. This partnership is set to evolve creative and commercial opportunities for UMG artists and songwriters across Meta's platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Horizon, Threads, and WhatsApp. In a world where unauthorized AI-generated content is a growing concern, this agreement focuses on protecting artists' rights and expanding monetization opportunities, especially through short-form video. Why are they called Smartglasses? I just received my Ray-Ban Meta Smartglasses, and I am very positively surprised. Let me explain why. My most used "device" is my pair of glasses. I put them on in the morning and take them off before going to bed. As my eyesight is pretty bad, they are my most important device, and now, thanks to Meta and Ray-Ban they've gotten even better. Thanks to the built-in speakers and microphones, they have the potential to replace my AirPods in many situations. And the sound quality is surprisingly good. Also, this is probably the only tech device I own that is still useful after running out of battery, as it helps me to see. 🤔😂 Very SMART! Features of my Meta Ray-Bans: - I can see more clearly - They tint in the sun - 12 MP camera for photos - 1080p video recording - Loudspeakers (feels like also bone conduction is being used) - Voice commands - Reading of text messages - Touchpad to turn on music (Apple Music or Spotify) or to adjust volume - SMART case for storage and charging (similar to the AirPods case) - Not released to the public yet: Meta AI, Multimodal SMART AI Assistant, which allows it to answer questions based on your environment, by seeing what you see. - And last but not least, I think they make me look SMARTer, too. 🤣 P.S. The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are receiving a notable update while awaiting a major #AI enhancement. The latest upgrade introduces native Apple Music controls, enabling users to manage songs, playlists, albums, and stations through Meta AI voice commands for a hands-free experience. Additionally, the update introduces new touch controls, allowing users to initiate #AppleMusic playback based on their listening history by touching and holding the side of the glasses. Furthermore, the update enhances interoperability by enabling the glasses to serve as a video source for #WhatsApp and #Messenger calls, expanding on existing messaging capabilities. Users can now also prompt the glasses to identify songs playing through them with the command, "Hey Meta, what song is this?" To install the update, users can navigate to the Meta View App, access Settings > select the Your Glasses menu > and check for updates. If the update is not visible, users should ensure that the Meta View app is up-to-date in the #PlayStore or #AppStore. Meta has announced Movie Gen. Meta started work on a text-to-video model called Make-A-Video in late 2022. Now 2 years later this will be coming to the public. These videos will be at least 16 seconds long extending up to 45 secs. The best competitors in the market currently can generate a decent 10 extending up to 40 second video. So Meta will be ahead of the current progress of other companies by a few seconds. You will be able to edit your existing video collection easily with text prompts. Use video and text inputs to generate audio for your videos.
