𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄... But there’s hope on the horizon with technology like Molerat! I had the privilege of speaking at Atlanta Tech Village last night, representing Molerat thanks to Emily Francis' trust. While we wait for Molerat to become available, here’s some advice I shared for navigating this turbulent time in the workforce: 1. 🔍 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗷𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀: Not every role is a perfect match, but many are within the same ecosystem. Research and broaden your horizons. 2. 🛤️ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀: Work with partner companies, become a vendor—these paths may lead to a full-time role later on. 3. ⚡ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆:: When you land your dream job, keep networking as if you still need one. 4. 🚪 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄: Sometimes, the best way to start is by taking a job you're not passionate about—once you're in, network and move towards your ideal position. 5. 🤷♂️ 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂: The talent pool is flooded right now. Be patient, confident, and remember this is a numbers game! I understand the struggle—I’ve been there. While I can’t offer jobs, I’ll continue sharing and amplifying opportunities within my network. I wont deny it, a tear came to my eye and I was truly touched. What can you think when one of the founders who went through your program calls and asks to meet for coffee impromptu ? Is he going to tell me about a big challenge, share a new round they’re completing? Ask for help or share an update? In our line of work we are working with heroes, entrepreneurs who are going against nature and trying to create something that never existed before against all odds and a big part of our work is dealing with all the hardships and celebrating the small successes. That’s why when I met with Ran Lampert, Ariel Kriger and team, I jumped in my seat out of happiness when they let me know they were able to complete the deal we’ve been working on together and are able to bring meaningful value that moves the needle to one of our corporate partners. It’s not trivial that a startup gets trusted by such a large corporation, it’s not trivial that a startup is able to bring so much value to a huge organization. It’s not trivial that both sides trust you so much that you can be part of their success and make a meaningful impact being part of the relationship. It was a blast hosting all the talented builders at our Future Founders Soirée in NYC last week with Lee Hower and Rachel Hodes on behalf of NextView Ventures. Some of my favorite moments: 👩💻 👨💻 Multiple people said that they ran into friends and colleagues from past lives, and without this event they would've not thought of them as potential collaborators in their founding journey. ☕ Many attendees messaged me afterwards saying that they met some very interesting people and are already scheduling follow-up chats. 🤳 Two people actually ALREADY MET a few months back at another event and exchanged phone numbers, but one of them never followed up. They met AGAIN and decided to exchange numbers again, only realizing that they already had each others' phone numbers 😅 A few quotes from attendees: "You assembled a group of really dynamic interesting people - the in person element was so refreshing and the clever way of incorporating icebreakers was quite effective. I certainly met some folks who I may collaborate with." " thanks so much for a fun evening with insightful connections and conversations :)" "It was really well done, organized and I made incredible connections. Both the recommendations [of people to chat with], XX and YY were stars." We are always looking for ways to add to this highly curated Future Founder community, and we have many initiatives planned to help facilitate ideation, cofounder matching, and finding “your crew” to go through the (often lonely) founder journey together. i've known Hazim and Carin and Fauzan for a while now and seen them go thru a lot of ups and downs and iterations to get to their recent ups. i'm rooting for them and i think they're just getting started. if you're starting a startup and are looking for cofounders, definitely download coffeespace on your phone. if you're an investor you should probably approach hazim sooner than later because the job market is terrible and a ton of people in the US and elsewhere (even those who previously didn't wanna start a company) are now looking to start a company, and are searching for cofounders. and this market will keep growing since entrepreneurship (whether with small or big goals) has network effects and the more people become entrepreneurs, the more they'll influence non-entrepreneur people around them to also start a company, too. and coffeespace is the superior product in terms of matching and filtering, and now it's getting an increased network size and quality and geographic diversity, which i think would soon make it the default way for forming cofounding relationships
