My Experience at Wow! Momo Chennai: Same Pan & Fryer Used for Veg and Non-Veg | Sagar Daryani 1 Oct 2024: In this video, I address a critical food safety issue encountered at Wow Momo, Thirumangalam Metro Station, Chennai. Although two fryers were available, the staff was only using one, preparing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes in the same fryer. When I asked specifically whether they were using the same pan and if this was a common practice, the staff confirmed that this is done regularly at all Wow Momo stores. This practice raises serious concerns about cross-contamination and hygiene, which is especially problematic for customers with dietary or religious preferences. It's a clear breach of trust and a violation of basic food safety standards. Despite reaching out to Wow Momo's founder, Sagar Daryani, I have yet to receive a fully satisfactory response. I urge Wow Momo to take the following immediate actions: Public Apology: Wow Momo and its founders should publicly acknowledge this incident across social media platforms and issue a formal apology to the affected customers. This is crucial for rebuilding trust and showing that the brand takes food safety seriously. Notify Affected Customers: All customers who purchased vegetarian food from this outlet in the past week should be informed about the situation. Transparency is key, particularly for those who may be unaware of this practice but have dietary restrictions. Process Rectification: Immediate corrective measures must be taken to ensure that vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items are prepared separately, using dedicated utensils, pans, and fryers. Upholding food safety standards is essential to maintaining customer trust. I hope this issue will be treated with the seriousness it demands. I look forward to seeing Wow Momo's public response and the actions they take to address this. I have filed a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) and FoSCoS (FSSAI) regarding this issue. Sagar Daryani Wow! On a recent outstation trip, I asked for my one and only journey staple, Haldiram Snacks Pvt.Ltd. Fatafat Bhel. Unfortunately, I had to turn to a local brand's instant bhel, hoping to recreate the same magic. The yellow and red packaging, reminiscent of Haldiram's, held a promise of flavor-filled bites. But as I peeled back the layers, the excitement waned. Instead of the familiar trio of chutneys, there was an all in one chutney - that poor thing carried the burden of being sweet, tangy and spicy, all at once. Final Flavour? Zero! And where was the foldable spoon, a staple in every Haldiram's pack? Left spoonless, I had to rely on the kindness of a fellow passenger. But the real disappointment came when I reached for that final, satisfying crunch – the Puri. It was missing, leaving the entire bhel experience, incomplete. I realized the importance of those small touches. Haldiram's attention to detail, from the variety of chutneys to the utility of including a basic spoon and Puri, sets it apart. It's these thoughtful gestures that keep customers coming back, willing to pay a little extra for quality and satisfaction.
