What blows your mind about your work? Since joining MyOxygen Ltd late last year, the incredible purpose behind the digital products our #Bristol-based team produces continually astounds me. Nothing is done 'on a whim'. The ongoing, deep exploration of the human aspect of every digital product is absolutely fundamental to its design and successful delivery. Imagine your perfect coffee/tea/juice - the blend of sweetness balanced with a zing that challenges the palate - it sums up the ideal human + tech combo, in my humble opinion. #purposefulwork #techforgood #digitalforlife #lifesupport #alwayslearning

This is a very interesting article from Stephen Bromhall CHCIO, FBCS https://lnkd.in/eRd4bn_n Having spent a significant part of my NHS career within the Ambulance Service and then while at NHSE working on UEC, Care Homes and integrated care I really like what Stephen has put. The ambulance service is a lynch pin for integrated UEC and will be able to impact the flow of patients more than just about any other NHS service. To do this they need access to good data and technology though. Having spent a lot of time working with technology and ambulance staff and equipment this is not easy, as time is always the key factor, be it response, time on scene, at hospital and then turnaround. Fundamentally there is insufficient time to invest in the people aspect and the expectation that dropping in technology will make things better. This is seldom the case unless you look at the people and processes first. I feel that Ambulance services having access to data from patients who are on Virtual Wards, or who are in care homes and being supported by remote monitoring or even managing an LTC through remote monitoring would have a huge impact on patients, their flow and their outcomes. Unfortunately this is happening much too slowly though, but the fundamentals to deliver it are all there, it just needs time spent on the people and process aspect to make it a success. I have looked at how just using NRL and NEMS could make a difference, yet it is not widely used. There are some "quickish" wins in this space, and I would be more than happy to work with any Ambulance service to help them deliver and develop their strategies. We can make this work, but we must start with "People, Process and Technology". Finally here is a piece that I wrote around Virtual Wards supporting this. https://lnkd.in/gWxi64Db

The Importance of Assessing and Updating Your Service's Technology The technology we rely on plays a crucial role in how effectively we can respond to emergencies and provide care. The recent decision to refresh ambulance technology across England and Wales is a reminder of just how vital it is to regularly assess and update the tools and systems we use. Technology in EMS isn't just about having the latest gadgets—it's about ensuring that our teams have reliable, efficient, and user-friendly equipment that enhances our ability to save lives. Outdated or underperforming technology can slow us down, create inefficiencies, and even put patient care at risk. Regularly evaluating your service's technology allows you to identify gaps, streamline operations, and stay ahead of the curve. It’s not just about keeping up with advancements; it’s about making sure that every piece of technology you use is optimized for the job at hand. This continuous improvement mindset ensures that we are always ready to meet the demands of modern healthcare. #EMS #Technology #HealthcareInnovation #EmergencyServices #ContinuousImprovement #PatientCare #AmbulanceServices #TechUpgrade https://lnkd.in/dtysRp-n

#healthtech that saves time and money - and improves the #userexperience - the number one issue facing #healthcare today (Note: I have an interest in SOx)
What would you do with 8 spare hours a week? ⏰ “SOx is saving me probably 6 to 8 hours a week of running around, chasing things, doing paperwork. Those hours equate to a whole shift. SO I can be in the clinical areas, working in the operating theaters, even doing some education. ” Cathy - Tennyson Centre #healthcare #it #patientcare #nurseburnout #patientsoftware #digitaltransformation
