Joining the select ranks of the United States Marines corps requires a unique combination of physical prowess, mental fortitude, and unwavering dedication to serving our great nation. The statistics are clear: joining the US Marine Corps is a rare and exceptional career path for Americans. While approximately 35,000 new recruits join the organization per year, accounting for roughly .01% of all Americans, the vast majority – some 324,965,000 individuals or 99.98% – opt not to pursue service with the military branch of the United States Marine Corps. The United States Marine Corps has significantly influenced my life and career, instilling leadership traits that have propelled me towards success. The intangible quality of leadership is rooted in various factors including inherent control, self-confidence, expert knowledge, initiative, loyalty, pride, and a sense of responsibility. The acronym JJDIDTIEBUCKLE (pronounced 'JJ did tie buckle') represents the 14 leadership traits drilled into every Marine, shaping them into capable leaders. As a leader and Marine, I prioritize honesty, bravery, wisdom, and strategic decision-making to effectively guide and inspire those around me. Semper Fidelis.

Each birthday, the commandant and sergeant major release a birthday message. Every Marine inhales it. This year's message reflects the reality of combat. The values of a liberal democracy are different than those required to defend it. "We will cut our enemies down in droves. The fields of the dead will serve as evidence of our passing." "The Marine Corps is a force like no other. We have no peer. Our resilience is as unbreakable as our spirit. A lot of the old school AND new school guys working in our industry come from the U.S. Navy! Its hard, hot, dirty work. Its also very gratifying work. Most people do not realize that without boilers the world would stop working as it does today. Electricity?? Steam turbines make it. Boilers make the steam to make them work. Diesel and Gasoline? Created/refined in Petrochemical plants that are powered by steam boilers. Most things we all take for granted in this world have been touched by steam, and by extension boilers in some way shape or form. Even some "green" energies are created with boilers!
