🌱 Everything starts with a seed and having the right to save and use your own seeds (seed sovereignty) is vital for food security. 🌍 This World Food Day, we're sharing a film we made for CAFOD on the topic of seed sovereignty, which was a part of their 'Fix The Food System' campaign. 🫛 It's so important to talk about the topic of access to seeds as part of a fair food system. Have you heard of seed sovereignty?

If you want to be a richer farmer, step away from the farm once in a while. Things like: ▪︎ Who receives a grant, or ▪︎ Government agencies in charge of export licences or ▪︎ How to brand yourself as a farmer. ... cannot all be found at our dear farms. These are all great questions that need to be addressed. No one has asked about the collateral damage that the outbreak has caused that potentially affected every customer that had meat sliced at a deli after an infected piece of meat was sliced. Generally, most out breaks aren't acknowledged, and alerts aren't sent out until someone has been infected. By this time numerous customers have been at risk from Cross-Contamination. Especially customers who purchased meat that was sliced at a deli after someone else purchased contaminated meat that contaminated the slicer. If Deli's only sanitize every 4 hours like their IFU's call for there are a lot of customers who become infected due to Cross-Contamination of the slicer. IFU's for Deli Slicers should be changed to sanitize between every customer that will reduce the chance of Cross-Contamination before the next outbreak even happens. HOCI with 60 second sanitization, an NSF D2 rating that will leave no residue with or without wiping with a clean cloth, is the responsible choice for sanitizing deli slicers between every customer.

They attract pests, and can catch fire, potentially endangering you and your neighbors. 🔎Don't Nap In A Cheese Factory The Sanitary Food Preparation Act includes a provision that makes it illegal to nap in a cheese factory in Illinois. To be fair, no one wants you drooling on the cheese. This is common sense food safety legislation.  🔎In Washington, it is a misdemeanor offense to expose others to a contagious disease. "The law states that any person who intentionally exposes themselves or others, or any animal affected by a contagious or infectious disease, in a public place or thoroughfare, except when necessary and done in a manner that does not endanger public health, is guilty of a misdemeanor." The same is true if a person is contagious and exposes another person without their knowledge. Do you have a bizarre case story?
