The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) is set to streamline its product offerings, reducing its inventory by several thousand SKUs over the next 18 months to create a more efficient supply chain. This move addresses the growing product glut, limited storage, and slowing market growth. Starting in September, expect fewer products but more efficient distribution. Key changes include: Expansion of the Flow-Through Program: On-demand products without permanent warehouse storage. Multi-Tier Delivery Platform: Reducing lead times for faster access. Increased Product Calls: From four to five annually, accelerating market launch. Harmonized Submission Process: Simplifying product introduction. Enhanced Wholesale Metrics: Detailed data for better product availability. For producers and retailers, these updates mean improved efficiency and faster market access. Stay tuned for further details from the OCS on these significant changes. 1CM Inc. is committed to helping you navigate these shifts seamlessly. It doesn’t matter if you’re a cannabis start up or a multi state brand operating in 20 + markets. We’re building Vert to serve you. Our initial idea was to bridge the gap between drop culture and cannabis. What we architected resulted in a product & service offering much greater than anticipated. Since going to market last June, we’ve learned a lot about ourselves and what the market truly needs. Vert is the only custom packaging company in cannabis that is a real multichannel, single source supply chain partner. This means you can choose between different tiers of primary containers (good, better, best) based on where you want to keep your COGS. It also means you can choose different manufacturing methods from domestic quick turn to import. We are the only cannabis packaging company offering no minimums and 11 business day turn times on a complete solution for your branded products. This means, you can buy your primary, buy custom labels, buy product boxes and case packs all from one partner. You can get prototypes from us within a 1 week turn and have your commercial requirements 2-3 weeks after that. We've taken what is a 4-6 month traditional process and turned it into 4 weeks as it relates to going from concept to shelf. Cannabis operators deserve better. We’re laser focused on building just that 🔨🫡

A recent article released on StratCann is warning Cannabis enthusiasts that "Canada's wholesale cannabis market [is] shifting from buyer's to seller's". This article outlines that Cannabis legalization in Canada has shifted from a surplus to a shortage, benefiting growers with increased leverage in the market. Agmedica Bioscience's Jacquie Trombley reports that 2024 marks a turn toward a seller's market, with prices for cannabis, including lower-grade products, doubling. This shift has led to more favorable payment terms for growers, with cash upfront becoming the norm. Industry-wide, closures of cannabis producers and export demand have reduced supply, further driving up prices. High-quality cannabis is particularly scarce, signaling a shift in supply dynamics across Canada. At Retro Cannabis, we are curious to see if this will continue to be the trend with #Croptober around the corner. While no one has a crystal ball, we wonder if post-harvest, flower from this growing season will level out inventory levels to some degree. What are your thoughts? Let us know! Did you see the latest stats out of Colorado? Let's talk about what's really happening in the cannabis industry. In February, total cannabis sales dipped to $114.4m, marking the lowest since February 2018, excluding a historic dip last November. While retail sales are kinda treading water around $100m, it's the medical side that's really taking a hit, dropping to $13.8m in February. Colorado was a trailblazer in legalizing adult-use cannabis, but now, it is a bit of a wake-up call. And it's not just here. Over in New York, they're feeling the crunch too, with big drops across the board - fewer retailers, growers, manufacturers, you name it. So, why does everyone just talk about wholesale prices and discounting? Let's shift the focus! What about the customers and budtenders? What about innovating to meet consumer needs? There's a whole lot more to this industry than just the numbers at the top. Dig deeper. #cannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabisindustry #hemp #cbd #colorado #newyork #customerexperience
