Sunday reading recommendation 🌞 Fresenius Medical Care is featured in the special supplement of Welt am Sonntag about the first WELT-AI-Summit in Berlin. Frank Maddux MD, FACP and Peter Kotanko, MD are talking about how our company is using AI to continuously improve dialysis therapies. “We started systematically collecting and analyzing data from our dialysis treatments about 20 years ago, and for the past twelve years we have been using this data to gain an increasing number of new diagnostic and therapeutic options,” says Frank Maddux, Global Chief Medical Officer and FME Management Board member. “AI can only be as good as the data on which it is based,” says Peter Kotanko, who heads the Renal Research Institute (RRI), a subsidiary of FME. The analysis of big data with the help of AI helps FME to support even better their patients worldwide. AI can make everyday life better and easier of doctors and patients. What is your experience of the technological change we are experiencing? Read the full story in the weekend edition of Welt am Sonntag #ProudToBeFME

At Teva, being all in for better health, we're using AI to advance the drug development process: Improve the speed and accuracy of diagnosing medical conditions, accelerate clinical trial processes, and more – all so that we can get medicines to patients faster. One such example is Teva's involvement in the MOBILISE-D project, which focuses on conditions that often affect mobility, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Parkinson’s disease. As Michal Melamed, Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics and AI at Teva, explains, “We are using AI and analytics to try to predict and assess the motor stage of the patients' disease, which affects the body’s movement, and to identify the walking factors most associated with Parkinson's disease motor stages.” Find out more about Teva’s innovative work in AI: https://lnkd.in/dFiikrfT #WorldHealthDay #Innovation #AI #AIinHealthcare #Tevapharm #WeAreAllInForBetterHealth

🔬 Shaping the Future: Navigating the Regulatory Landscape for AI in Diagnostics 🔬 “We viewed the FDA as a valuable partner in the submission process,” said Prenosis CEO Bobby Reddy, Jr. at today’s #ADLM2024 Data Summit. “Its team provided crucial feedback during the review process to ensure the Sepsis ImmunoScore™ was a safe and effective diagnostic tool for sepsis. AI in healthcare must be developed responsibly, including regulatory oversight.” Reddy joined industry leaders from NorthShore University HealthSystem, Pattern Bioscience, University of Michigan Medical School, and Roche to discuss “Navigating the Changing Regulatory Landscape for AI in Clinical Diagnostics.” Bobby shared insights into the rigorous regulatory journey of the Sepsis ImmunoScore™, a groundbreaking milestone as the first FDA-authorized AI diagnostic for #sepsis. Reddy emphasized the need for #AI development to align with clinicians’ needs, ensuring transparency to build trust and foster a true clinician-AI partnership. The Sepsis ImmunoScore™ demonstrates how AI can enhance clinical insights while maintaining trust and clarity in medical diagnostics. #ClinicalDiagnostics #AIinHealthcare #SepsisAwareness
