Impact investing isn’t just some niche idea. Did you know that it is a $1.2 trillion space? According to the Global Impact Investing Network, that’s how much is currently invested in initiatives like renewable energy, racial and gender equity, global resilience, and more. 🌍💪 We’ve also seen a nearly 20% increase in women owning investments this year alone—now 7 out of 10 of us are investing. How amazing is that? But I know for some, finances still feel stressful or intimidating. That’s where Invest for Better comes in. We’re building a welcoming community of women who are not only investing for impact but also supporting each other along the way. Whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your influence, there’s a place for you here. I’d love for you to join us! Together, we can build wealth, drive sustainability, and create the future we believe in. Want to stay connected? There was once a point when #women couldn't own property; now, women hold a growing proportion of the global #wealth. What's even more interesting is that the different approach they bring to their investments impacts the broader (and still male-dominated) #financial industry through impact #investing. Impact investing is still widely considered a "niche" within the investing world. Still, it's on the rise—to the tune of over $2.3 trillion in global capital - a number growing year after year primarily due to the influence of women and millennial investors. The theme of this year's International Women's Day is ""Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,"" which aims to address the centuries of economic disempowerment that women have faced and continue to experience across the globe. As a woman of color in impact investing, this theme could not be more fitting. According to Institutional Investor, private equity firms with female owners are more likely than their male-owned peers to focus on impact strategies and 6.8% more likely to pursue impact investments. I am extremely proud to be a part of this group and play a role in meaningful investment decisions that are actively shaping the future of our country's entrepreneurial landscape. As women, our experiences and perspectives are unique, and I feel empowered to know that our voices are only getting stronger. #IWD2024 #WHM #InspireInclusion

The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) outlines two key components of Gender Lens Investing: 1️⃣ INVESTING WITH PURPOSE: Directing capital towards women-owned or women-led enterprises, companies promoting workplace equity, and businesses offering products or services that enhance the lives of women and girls. 2️⃣ GENDER-INFORMED INVESTMENT STRATEGY: Integrating gender equity considerations throughout the investment process, from due diligence to post-investment, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals. It's #iwd2024. Let's talk about women's financial power. Thanks, Women Moving Millions, for having the team from the Diverse Investing Collective. The aim is to have 33% of assets under management (AUM) managed by gender-diverse and racially-diverse fund management teams by 2033. Why? It's the right thing to do and the smart thing to do. Read below. 👇 According to a McKinsey & Company study, by 2030, women will control two-thirds of U.S. wealth for the first time in history. Imagine if that wealth had a full-impact lens? IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE Currently, women comprise just 14% of fund managers globally—a number that hasn’t changed in 20 years. People of color comprise just 22% of the investment industry workforce, despite being more than 40% of the US population. Only 1.4% of US-based assets are managed by diverse-owned firms. MIXED GENDER TEAMS OUTPERFORM 2021 Vanguard study of 2,600 US active equity funds found mixed-gender teams outperform the benchmark by 38.9 basis points per year, and a 2023 WTW analysis found investment teams in the top quartile of gender diversity outperform those in the bottom quartile by 45 basis points per year. I'm proud to have contributed to the strategy behind The Diverse Investing Collective https://lnkd.in/dCZezU3h brought to life by the extraordinary co-author (w/ Patience Marime-Ball, Esq.) of the XX Edge Ruth Shaber, MD and led the brilliant Robyn Russell alongside the expertise of Ivy Jack Adewale Oduye and so many more.
