Airway management in prehospital patient care is constantly evolving and ventilation practices are always advancing! Pre-hospital providers now have the ability to better adapt to the changing environment in prehospital care by utilizing the HAMILTON-T1 ventilation solution as NIPPV. Providers could provide the highest quality NIPPV/BiPAP with the #HAMILTON-T1 and seamlessly change over to invasive ventilation after intubation. This could improve the workflow of the provider, decrease the cognitive load of managing multiple devices, decrease wasted consumables, and ultimately improve patient care. #bipap #NIPPV

One discrete example of the value of digital transformation in healthcare, benefiting patients and their loved ones - need identified by our business stakeholders, carers and patients; transformation team ideates potential solutions; rapid prototyping, feedback, iterate; fast delivery using Agile
Ramsay Health Hub Patient Tracker through an innovative wristband scanning process keeps carers and loved ones informed at every step of a patient's hospital journey. It also enables us to have reliable data to understand the time it takes for patients to move through key points in the surgical process so we are able to understand where there are potential opportunities for streamlining our processes to make the patient experience even better. It was a truly collaborative effort across Ramsay to build, test, iterate and rapidly scale this solution over the past few months. Well done to all involved. More to come….

Quoting: “Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is recognized for its initiative the Surgical Pause, which reduced six-month mortality of patients determined to be “frail” from 25 percent to 8 percent at three VA medical centers. Under the initiative, providers implemented routine frailty screening with the Risk Analysis Index to identify patients at the highest risk of postoperative complications, loss of independence, and mortality. For patients found to be frail, a brief “pause” permits further evaluation. For patients who pursue surgery, multidisciplinary care plans are implemented to reduce frailty-associated risks before surgery, shifting the paradigm and effort to strengthening the frail patient and mitigating potential complications before they happen. Further analysis of more than 50,000 patients found that one-year mortality declined by 4.2 percent. As a result of this success, the Surgical Pause has been replicated across more than 50 medical centers across VA and the private sector.”
