Every Thanksgiving, I like to take time to slow down and reflect on the year. For me, it’s a special time to give thanks for the many blessings, people and opportunities we have in our lives. This year, after seeing the damage Hurricane Helene caused for many of our customers and co-workers, I am especially grateful for the health and safety of my loved ones, our Southern Company team and our communities. I'm so proud of how our team serves our customers with excellence and lifts up the communities we are privileged to serve in good and challenging times. On a personal note, I am thankful I get to continue making memories every day with family members young and old. My time with them is so precious, and I enjoy seeing the world through my grandsons’ eyes and reflecting on history with my mother who turned 100 this year. They are my “why.” Every day when I come to work, I know I’m getting to work with an incredibly dedicated team that is committed to helping shape a bright energy future for our customers and our communities. That is a great feeling. To all of our team members at Southern Company, thank you for all you do to serve our customers. What you do matters, and every day we make a positive impact for millions of Americans. I wish you all a Thanksgiving filled with abundance, joy and happiness!
Grateful for your leadership and service. Leading a company is a both a great sacrifice and a reward. And partnering with the communities, in which we operate, supports and strengthens them to build a strong future for the workforce, customers, communities and future leaders.
This has been a special year for Southern with the competition and the certification Vogtle 3 & 4. The first new nuclear plants for our country in many years. We should all be thankful for working for or being retired from this special company.
Thank you for all that you and your team do everyday for our families and communities.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family.
