My favorite travel hack is having an iPad + MacBook, and using Universal Control so you can control both with one keyboard/mouse. This is better than simply using a second monitor as you can use native mobile apps on the iPad and everything else on your Mac while using just one device to control both. My current setup leverages the hotel coffee maker for a stand and the iPad keyboard/touchpad to control both (so I can use the MacBook camera for calls). What’s your go to for working from a hotel? #remotework
Arzopa 2K monitors entered the chat :)
I use the mac keyboard/touchpad and put my iPad in sidecar mode for a second monitor for all chat apps (it works best when tethered). Sometimes I'll switch it to native mode for a zoom call so I have no distractions on the Mac.
Mirroring my MacBook to my Vision Pro, hands down. Especially now with wide / ultrawide screen sizes (equivalent to 2 side-by-side 4K monitors) and keyboard environment passthrough!
Love this. I’ve only really used Side car. I’ll give this a shot. Cheers.
I had no idea you can do this
Using Universal Control with the iPad and MacBook is such a smart way to streamline things on the go—perfect for making the most out of hotel workspaces. Love the coffee maker stand hack too!
💡thanks for sharing - this will solve an issue I have!

1moHere is an upgrade that adds almost no weight but is mandatory for my travel bag: 1- Get the Roost Laptop Stand and ditch the coffee machine, you can use it everywhere, including in the air! (It's worth every penny,I've had mine since their kickstarter!). 2- USBC to HDMI hub if you don't have an HDMI output built in. 3- HDMI Cable (6ft). - Now, you can save your neck anywhere you go and connect the Hotel TV as your external monitor. The resolution isn't great but it is perfect for showing and listening to web conference calls while you continue to have your full desktop/ipad for work.
