I am delighted to announce that I have joined Cohere - the frontier AI model company - as the founding Solutions Architect in EMEA. Our mission at Cohere is simple: we want to build secure AI models that are impactful for enterprises today. Every day we are bombarded with opinions about how artificial intelligence will change the world. It is evident that there is a tremendous amount of misunderstanding within the global community about what that change will look like and how it will come about. Many people's primary concern is the race to so-called Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the risks involved in its pursuit. While such speculation is undoubtedly interesting, AGI is not what Cohere is concerned with. To paraphrase Nick Frosst, Cohere is not pursuing the creation of “digital gods”. Instead, we provide embedding, retrieval, and large language models that help empower organizations. My belief is that a global productivity revolution will be driven by individuals who build the next generation of tools and applications hand-in-hand with model providers like Cohere. As I have spent years partnering with businesses to address the multi-faceted security requirements and challenges within modern organizations, I deeply appreciate the hesitancy business leaders may have when leveraging state-of-the-art artificial intelligence. It is for this reason that I have joined Cohere, whose fundamental vision is to offer immense utility through cloud-agnostic, artificial intelligence without compromising on security and privacy. Many of us have spent the last two years experimenting with AI chatbots. Now the focus is shifting. Let us build secure real-world, AI-powered applications together with Cohere.
