#Day_4_of_my_consistency_challenge #Expectations_vs_Reality Back in pharmacy school, I had it all planned: graduate in 2023, secure an internship by January 2024, and start building my career. I’d even mapped out how I’d use my internship earnings to jumpstart my journey. Now, fast-forward to November 2024, and here I am—still waiting for my first interview. When my induction took about 8 months post-graduation due to unforeseen accreditation issues, I knew I needed to adjust. I began volunteering as a locum pharmacist in a community pharmacy, which helped me sharpen my skills and gain hands-on experience with everything I learned in school. While at it, I also enrolled in the ALX Virtual Assistant training, hoping to secure my first gig upon completing the program and start supporting CEOs in boosting their productivity. But once again, reality had other ideas. One lesson I’ve learned is that setbacks and delays don’t define us—they challenge us to adapt, persevere, and refine our goals. To anyone facing similar hurdles: don’t give up. Keep building, keep strategizing, and keep positioning yourself for success. The effort will eventually pay off. I’m still actively applying for pharmacy internships and pitching myself for Virtual Assistant roles. The journey may be taking longer than I expected, but I’m committed to making every step count. Have you faced any unexpected turns in your career journey? How did you handle them?
