🚀 AWS Cost Management in 2024: What’s New? 🚀 In 2024, EC2 and RDS users are facing new challenges: while AWS continues to innovate with flexible pricing models like Savings Plans and Spot Instances, nearly 80% of container costs are still tied to idle resources. 📉 The good news? Tools like Reserved Instances can save you up to 42% on RDS and 37% on EC2. But managing these savings effectively is key. At Zesty, we help companies go further by automating dynamic scaling, ensuring your cloud environment only uses what’s needed—saving even more in real-time. 💡 Are you maximizing your AWS savings potential? Ever wondered how to keep your AWS traffic private and secure? 🤔 VPC Endpoints are your answer! VPC Endpoints let your VPC privately connect to AWS services without needing to go through the internet. Here's a hands-on project I did to create a VPC endpoint: ☁️ Set up a VPC with an EC2 instance and endpoint. 🪣 Launched an S3 bucket that only allows traffic from my endpoint. 🚪 Used route tables to direct s3-bound traffic from my EC2 instance to my endpoint. 🧪 Validated my endpoint setup by using my EC2 instance to run CLI commands. A big shout-out to @NextWork for their project guide! Let's connect and explore cloud technologies together! #AWS #AWSCloud #NextWork #CloudNetworking #AmazonVPC #LearningJourney

#Day11 Today’s lesson was about key cloud concepts that make AWS so powerful! Scalability: Horizontal scaling: Adding more instances to distribute the load (think of adding more servers). Vertical scaling: Upgrading the power of existing resources (think of adding more RAM/CPU to your instance). Elasticity: AWS adjusts resources automatically to handle dynamic workloads scaling up during peak demand and scaling down when things are quiet. Agility: AWS allows businesses to innovate quickly, deploying and experimenting with new ideas in minutes! High Availability: Architecting systems to ensure they are always operational, even in the face of failures. Application Load Balancer (ALB): Ensures incoming traffic is distributed evenly across multiple targets (like EC2 instances), improving fault tolerance and performance. These concepts come together to build resilient, high-performing systems in the cloud. #AWS #CloudPractitioner #Scalability #Elasticity #Agility #HighAvailability #ApplicationLoadBalancer #Udemy #KeepLearning #CloudComputing #DataEngineering

Jumping into AWS has already given me an unexpected experience! 😂 I spun up a few EC2 instances while trying out the application load balancer and auto-scaling group —feeling like a real cloud pro! 🌥️ Everything was great until I realized... I FORGOT TO TERMINATE THE INSTANCES! 😬💸 Next thing I know, a nice little $2 charge showed up! 😅 Well, looks like I just got my first lesson in cloud cost management the hard way. Lesson: Auto-scaling is cool, but manually scaling down your wallet? Not so much! 😆 Pro Tip: Set up a billing alarm to keep track of unexpected charges before they surprise you! #LearningAWS #CloudOops #FirstMistakes #AWSJourney #CloudComputing #EC2 #CostManagement

AWS Console to Code ... really Amazon Web Services (AWS)? A quick recommendation, free of charge You have: - Infrastructure Composer - EC2 launch templates - Create launch templates for your services, at least core services, as you did for EC2 - Mix Infra composer and create a new service called "infra launch templates." - Follow your own best practices for IaC, including folder structure Why reinvent the wheel? #AWS #Amazon #Cloud #Day2

Celebrating the completion of week 1 of 12 of the NPower Cloud Practitioner program. Week 1 was comprised of getting familiar with AWS and creating EC2 Instances which also included creating key pairs, VPC’s, subnets, route tables, and internet gateways. I can’t wait to see what we do next week! #NPower #AWS #Cloudcomputing

🚀 What’s next after setting up your Amazon VPC? [Project No: 0014/∞] Here’s a quick overview of how I launched resources in my VPC and sped up VPC creation ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 💻 Launched an EC2 instance in a public subnet, secured with a key pair. 🤐 Launched an EC2 instance in a private subnet, with a security group restricting access to public subnet traffic only. ⚡️ Used the VPC resource map to automate VPC creation. 📸 For a detailed guide and to apply these steps in your AWS setup, check out my full documentation below. 🙏 Thanks to NextWork 📢 Working on AWS or cloud projects? ⭐ Slashing AWS Costs: My Top Strategies As cloud costs continue to rise, I've been focusing on optimizing our AWS spend. Here are some key strategies I've found effective: 👉 Right-sizing instances: Regularly audit and adjust EC2 instances to match actual usage. 👉 Leverage spot instances: Great for non-critical, fault-tolerant workloads. 👉 Reserved Instances & Savings Plans: Commit to consistent usage for significant discounts. 👉 Auto-scaling: Set up dynamic scaling to match demand and avoid over-provisioning. 👉 S3 Intelligent-Tiering: Automatically move data between storage classes to optimize costs. 👉 Use CloudWatch and AWS Cost Explorer: Monitor usage and identify cost-saving opportunities. 👉 Clean up unused resources: Regularly audit and remove idle resources. What strategies have you found most effective for managing AWS costs? Let's share our experiences! #AWS #CloudCost #CostOptimization #CloudComputing
