So proud to speak on the importance of human rights and a feminist perspective on climate change at today’s hearing. I was so moved by the presentation by Vanuatu and the Melanesian Spearhead Group which highlighted so vividly the reality of the impact climate change is already making in their communities.

Albania’s oral submissions were delivered by Armand Skapi, Secretary General for the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Omnia’s Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.). Accompanying them were Albania’s Migena Baholli, Sir Daniel Bethlehem KC of Twenty Essex and Omnia’s Adam Smith-Anthony and Lauren Lederle. Albania highlighted the inequities of the climate crisis, calling for urgent global action. It also emphasised the disproportionate burden faced by developing countries and impacts on certain groups of people, including women and girls. This continues Omnia’s proud pro bono support for Albania in these landmark proceedings, building on our earlier contributions across both rounds of written pleadings. The Omnia team representing Albania in these advisory proceedings also includes Ben Wheadon, Ivaylo Dimitrov, James Palmer, Jessica L. Sblendorio, Kevin Gerenni and Roberto Lupini. 💬 Omnia’s full statement is available in the comments below and via our website: https://lnkd.in/eZt4jF_P 📺 Follow the hearings live here: https://lnkd.in/e9Yuz6-b 📄 Access Albania’s written submissions here: https://lnkd.in/eV9d4ws4 #ICJAO #climate #climatechange #ICJ #internationallaw #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalLaw #ClimateJustice #Sustainability #InternationalLaw #HumanRightsLaw #Albania
