Meet Jordi A., a 4th-year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh. This summer, he joined Meta's Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team as a Research Scientist Intern. "I'm working on large language models and code generation. I'm still astounded by the massive number of GPUs and the level of the research collaborators I have access to at Meta," Jordi explained. "I'm investigating how to get AI models to have a better understanding of code by using information obtained when executing programs." Jordi was drawn to Meta because of FAIR's groundbreaking open science and ambitious plans for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). "I'm so excited to be part of a lab working on the frontiers of AI research," he said. The best advice he received this summer? "Make sure you meet all the relevant people — there's always something to learn from other's work. It's easier to limit yourself to your immediate peers but going the extra mile to meet researchers and interns from other teams or locations has been totally worth it."
