Higher levels of care -- mental health treatment in residential programs Sometimes #mentalhealth and #substanceuse disorder treatment requires more than just office visits and outpatient care. Sometimes it involves residential programs or hospitalization. In such situations, #medicalnecessity determinations may be more complex, including planning for and managing changes in the level of care.  They may also be subject to insurer denials for "not medically necessary." Can you wait? People in the UK are in physical and emotional agony waiting for services. Need a GP appointment? What number are you in the queue? No. 18 and it's only 8.05 am? Do you give up as you have things to do? Tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes. Aw well, will try again next week... When is the last time you managed to get a dental appointment? Or are the treatments cost's climbing so you now only make contact when you are in pain? What about therapy services? Still waiting?✋️ What about specialist therapy? An example of this is the VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) sector. Waiting for specialist therapy or support with a legal prosecution seeking justice from the perpetrator? How about an 18-month waiting list in London? Still waiting? ⏰️ All started calm, but as the waiting continues, the frustration rises. 🫤 I am just sending a reminder to state that we are in an age now where we have to persevere and be rigorous in requesting treatment, care, and preventative interventions as an act of self-preservation. Make time to wait in line. Make time for you and your family. Any tips on manoeuvring the waiting system? What is the longest time you have had to wait?
