Since the extended war began on September 23, 2024, Beirut airport has relied solely on MEA (Middle East Airlines) for cargo operations. With a fleet of 22 Airbus aircraft, including A330-200, A320-200, and A321neo models, MEA has been the backbone of Lebanon’s cargo logistics during this challenging period. Now that a ceasefire has been declared, several questions arise: Will international carriers resume their cargo services at Beirut airport? Could increased competition lead to a drop in shipping rates? What will the long-term repercussions be for Lebanon's logistics sector? This turning point presents both challenges and opportunities for the shipping and supply chain industries in the region. The return of carriers could stabilize operations and reduce costs, but rebuilding trust and networks will take time. What’s your perspective on how the cargo landscape will evolve in Beirut? #SupplyChain #CargoShipping #MEA #Logistics #GlobalTrade #Aviation #ShippingUpdates #ShippingIndustry #BeirutAirport #MiddleEast #GlobalTrade #Logistics #CircularEconomy
