Conversion Hotel was packed with inspiration. Here are my top 5 takeaways: 1️⃣ Prioritize active listening & enhance emotional connections If you want retention, you must actively listen to your customers to build meaningful relationships (Abi Hough). Katie Dove emphasized involving customers in the personalization process and making it visible, so they feel part of the experience. Equally important is listening to your colleagues internally, adapting strategies to cultivate an experimentation mindset (Ruben de Boer). 2️⃣ Strong & clear messaging Diane Wiredu 🦁 stressed the importance of identifying a focused message, which helps in aligning communication. Tim Ceuppens also pointed out that presenting data to colleagues should be done clearly and concisely to drive action and understanding. 3️⃣ Simplify Encourage participantion in the experimentation process by simplifying the process for colleagues (Divya Isaiah). András Kobza reinforced simplification by emphasizing the need to reduce the cognitive load on users. The goal is to create a seamless experience, both for users on your website and for employees experimenting with new ideas. 4️⃣ Learn from challenges Several speakers emphasized that experimentation is a learning process. Amrdeep Athwal and Marta Mijatov, MBA shared that setbacks should be seen as opportunities for growth, which gives challenges a positive spin and turns them into valuable learning moments. 5️⃣ What impact, as CRO specialists, can we make on sustainability? Theo van der Zee encouraged us to consider the impact we can make on sustainability. By taking collective responsibility, we can influence decisions that contribute to a more sustainable and conscious future. It’s clear that collaboration, adaptability, and a deep understanding of both customers and colleagues are at the heart of success! 😁
