How difficult would it be for a data scientist to review all Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review(s) to minimize dreadful stories like Sara Sharif happening. Internal large language models with high degrees of confidentiality to aid and escalate these risk areas? Draw distinctions between correlation and causation. There will undoubtedly be outliers but we seem to have cycles of long investigations without a proactive solution to aid under-resourced and under-pressure public services. How can the private sector help?

Introducing the Universal Classification Schema: a uniform set of classification terms for child sexual exploitation material, fostering consistency across different jurisdictions and facilitating better data comparison and global cooperation. The schema is structured into three distinct sections and purposes: • Categorisation Elements: the criteria used for evaluating the severity of illegal content. • Investigative Elements: assessing contextual information relevant to fulfilling reporting requirements and assessing the potential for investigations, particularly for victim identification and collecting pertinent data for prosecution. • Demographic Elements: gathering characteristics essential for statistical analysis, machine learning algorithm training, and mitigating biases. Discover how law enforcement, hotlines and online service providers can apply a common language to prioritise the removal of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online – learn more👉 https://bit.ly/3Sxfdu3 Safe Online #safeonline #safeonlinefund #universalclassificationschema #globalstandard #terminology #legislation #StopCSAM #safeonline #innovation #standardisation #fundedbySafeOnline

DATA SAVES LIVES: "Can we afford not to be doing this?" said the data protection manager Paul Withers @ Walsall Council about sharing data... Shock, horror... Data Protection enabled MAST (Multi Agency Safeguarding Tracker).... This is Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (Adults, Children’s and Public Health) alongside Walsall NHS Healthcare Trust, West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service automating the sharing of data between themselves to safeguard children and vulnerable adults. Their 2 minute (https://buff.ly/46mfaGE ) video packs a punch where you will agree wholeheartedly with Paul. Next is the question: Where are all the other amazing projects like this - let's find them, and help them! #gdpr #dataprotection #research #personaldata #researchers #innovation #futurism #technology #data #future #regulation #compliance #privacy #DataSavesLives #economics #economy #funding #machinelearning #privacypreservingtechnologies #privacyenhancingtechnologies #TRE #TrustedResearchEnvironments #ai #datasharing #sharing #ICO #DataSharing #DPO #DataProtectionOfficer #TheEvidenceQuarter #SDE

PL&B International Conference 2024 Paul Lavery, McCann FitzGerald LLP: “All of the obligations under the #GDPR apply when you're processing children's data: transparency obligations, a legal basis for processing, Privacy by Design and Default, data security, and restrictions on the retention of data. It is also clear that under the GDPR there are some specific references to children which highlight that an enhanced level of protection is required because of the nature of a child and the fact that you know they are deserving of protection and there is more risk.” The Irish DPC has imposed large fines and required companies to take corrective measures. #dataprotection #pricacylaws #plb2024 #children https://lnkd.in/eFGCEuUa

This is how to generally adopt a child safeguarding approach when organisations engage in partnerships and collaborations that involve collection and publishing of children data. Both organisations must!: *Adopt a child friendly approach *Obtain informed consent independently or through facilitation by the partner organisation *Ensure Anonymization by using pseudonyms or withholding any PII when publishing the information *Handle the information gathered with alot of sensitivity *Respect the respondents privacy *Provide support and counselling through out the process 💡💡💡💡

Finally set up my new #YouTube Channel: Grant's Crime Lab: Take 2. I needed a new one, separate from my old UA email address that I can retain going forward. I'll start posting regular weekly content in similar #CrimeAnalysis areas delving into different data and programs. I am not teaching so there will be less student walk-through style videos and more short tips/tricks/how-to. More on what I think is handy or what caught my eye while learning myself. As before, what you see is what you get - I barely do any editing and most videos contain some dry-humor https://lnkd.in/ghJfBmFn #CrimeData #CriminalJustice #Criminology
