Feeling stuck at work? Turns out, you’re not alone. A recent Gallup survey says job satisfaction is at its lowest in years—only 18% of people say they’re really happy in their jobs. Why? Think smaller raises, fewer promotions, that creeping “return-to-office” pressure and the expectation of doing a lot more with a lot less. It’s a tough mix that’s leaving many of us feeling detached. The real question is: how do we bring the spark back to work? Maybe it starts with small steps—building trust, fostering connections, and finding ways to make work feel human again. A recent Gallup survey of 20,000 U.S. workers reveals that more employees are looking to change jobs now than during the Great Resignation. Over half of respondents are actively seeking new positions, the highest rate since 2015. Key factors driving this trend include a lack of promotions, return-to-office mandates, and stagnating raises, which are expected to drop from 4.1% to a median 3.9%. As a result, many companies are introducing new projects and assignments to combat employee dissatisfaction and retain talent. This shift highlights the ongoing challenges in workforce engagement and retention. How is your business addressing this employee sentiment?
