When I think about the next generation of #leadersweneed, I always think of these inspiring young leaders. This work is leadership in action. A group of young leaders working together to support each other in their leadership journey and at the same time inspiring and empowering youth from across the community to see their potential, use their voice and know they are part of something bigger than themselves. In 2024 this #guyungminig collective of young leaders has grown together and individually and have stepped into their leadership potential and they are making change happen. I for one cannot wait to see what they do next. The future is in safe hands and its happening right now in #darkinjung country. Exciting Milestone for Barang Regional Alliance! Today, we proudly launched the Youth Empowerment Agenda, a transformative initiative designed to amplify the voices of young leaders across our region. Our Youth Empowerment Agenda is a community strategic response to the priorities and visions of our community's youth. It is informed by youth voices from our Annual Surveys and Empowered Youth Summits and brought together by the collective work of Guyung Minig, our youth leadership cohort. This was also an opportunity to promote the truth-telling of our community’s history, reveal our 2024 Empowered Youth Summit mural and reflect on the past two years of work on this project. Special recognition goes to the incredible Guyung Minig Youth Leadership Cohort—trailblazers leading the charge for positive change in the Darkinjung community. Together, we’re building a future where young people have the tools, platform, and support to thrive. This is just the beginning of a movement driven by youth for youth. Thank you to those who have contributed to our Youth Empowerment Agenda, from those who attended today to Tana Duncan, the designer, and the youth whose voices created the agenda.
