This article in the New York times makes the case for becoming a #lifecoach perfectly: "Carnochan informed me that becoming a therapist in today’s regulatory environment would be too costly in money and time, especially given my age (I am 56): years of expensive graduate school typically followed by many more years of interning under licensed therapists for a pittance or nothing at all. “It goes without saying that you’d be a wonderful therapist,” Carnochan said. The way he saw it, though, life experience and my decades of therapy had already taught me enough to start coaching. He was all in favor of training, especially in psychoanalysis, but considered the standard professional pathway too cluttered with bureaucratic hoops. The main reason to go through all that, Carnochan said, would be to get licensed. The main reason to get licensed would be to accept payment through medical insurance, which he thought I would be unlikely to do anyway because of the hassle and low pay. If I was determined to help people, I should declare myself a coach. No credential required." ==> But if you do want a proper #coachtraining with a #credential program via the #internationalcoachingfederation , definitely check out what we're up to with TeamCLCC ( https://TeamCLCC.com ). https://lnkd.in/gf5FVPtt #coaching #coachingskills #coachingformanagers

💭I've been thinking a lot about pricing in the high-ticket coaching industry...and I've had some realizations that may be unpopular... 〰️One-price models can leave behind prospects that can't afford a high-ticket price but could benefit tremendously from the service. 〰️Value-priced models where payment(s) are tied to specific outcomes can help overcome the hurdle of the one-price model...but only if the service is helping increase the prospect's revenue 〰️Sliding scale or tiered pricing structures help make the services accessible to a wider audience. The lower tier services often have less one-on-one access to the coaches which could be an impact to the desired results. I'm NOT suggesting coaches lower prices. Expertise takes YEARS to build...and that make access to expert coaches incredibly valuable. The main point I think we should ponder as a coaching community is: ➡️How do we innovate pricing models to increase access to services while still respecting and highly valuing the time and expertise of coaches? Things I'm considering in my coaching business: ✅A limited number of grants/scholarships each year ✅Occasional pinpointed service in exchange for testimonial (if client was happy with results) ✅Community-only level access to my team and I where we can answer questions and provide training recordings, etc. at a low-ticket price. Coaching community: I'd love to hear your thoughts and how you're innovating services at different price levels to increase accessibility ⬇️ #coach #community #pricing

We don't just do the workshop! Rocking up and just talking about a subject, doesn't change behaviour. There are steps we take to ensure our programmes help people deliver the #behaviour change that gets YOU results: ✅ Define what stakeholders want to happen as a result of the programme ✅ Meet the teams to learn about their world ✅ Ensure the 'learning' solves real problems ✅ Connect what we're covering, to things that matter for the team ✅ Make it EASY for them to do a better job ✅ Assess their development ✅ Evaluate the impact We're working on awesome projects at the moment, two of them are: 💥 A full programme of skills development for the team at International Dance Supplies (IDS) 💥 An in-depth version of the Continue & Begin FAST Coaching® programme for Lexham Insurance Group. ▶️▶️ The image in this post is from a bespoke video we've made this week, for Lexham, to introduce their teams to our work, and for us to find out more about them. When visionary people like Clive Gilbert and Paul Mcilroy engage us to support them - we work hard to make a difference. It's not just about what we do 'on the day' but about ensuring it has #impact LONG after the training is over. We're taking a break for a bit now. A well-earned rest you might say. But even while we're resting, the people we are working with are connecting with the ideas, concepts and materials ready for action. November and December will be brilliant - thanks to quality organisations who, despite all the challenges, see the benefit of #developing their teams to grow their business. There is no room for short-sighted quick fixes with these people, and it's my privilege to be working with them.

Did you know that I offer a Mentoring Service for practitioners in the Equine Assisted/Facilitated Field? It is particularly helpful for newly qualified professionals to work with an experienced practitioner in the early days to help you get started and explore any concerns, lack of confidence or skills-gaps. But I also find that people who’ve taken a break, or been unable to get started for some reason and also more experienced practitioners can all greatly benefit from working with someone from time to time. These sessions are bespoke in terms of content as each person has different needs and interests, so we work on what matters most to you and where you are perhaps most uncertain, blocked or struggling. For example: we might focus on helping you start and develop your practice; learn or enhance your skills in a particular area; developing genuine confidence in yourself and your ability to practice; working ethically and sensitively with full consideration and respect of your horses; general business development, and anything else you wish to focus on/receive support around. In addition to my experience in this field I also have many years of working in the not-for-profit sector and with funding organisations, as well as marketing, especially social media and websites. I work with practitioners of any model or approach anywhere in the world. If you’d like to book an initial exploratory session please get in touch via email: [email protected] or visit my website for more information on these sessions and the other support I offer for professionals: https://lnkd.in/esv32jAu Mentoring sessions are 1 hour via Zoom and the cost is £50 + a small PayPal fee for those outside the UK. My first paid online coaching session, I did it shaking, complete with teeth chattering and knees locked 😅 It was a group of women insurers from Canada wanting to learn how they could get clients online. In the first 3 minutes, 100 thoughts crossed my mind about returning their money and going to bed. (The session was late night, 10pm to Midnight) Except I'd bought my laptop that day with their payment. 🥴 Now, I enjoy coaching the best. I look forward to it and I actively look for clients to coach and walk the journey with. Both, online and in person. Who would have thought, right? 4 years ago if you would have told me I'd be getting paid to speak to people, I'd have laughed. I'd have probably turned down an offer saying "I can't speak in front of people" If you asked me why, I'd have said "I don't know. That's just how I am. I can't speak in front of people." How many times have you said that to yourself? " I can't ... because ..." "That's just how I am, I can't do .... " And in the process denied yourself: 👉🏾the opportunity to challenge yourself, 👉🏾to discover something new about yourself, 👉🏾to expand your capabilities. In real sense, It's not that you can't do it, it's that you won't. You have just refused to do it. Refused to allow yourself. Refused to give yourself the permission to be. How do I reframe my mind? Just do it. Do the dang thing. On my bucket list, is to start speaking on stages and rooms, big and small :) What are you challenging yourself to do differently? And how do you reframe your mind? #personaldevelopment

Glad (and relieved) to have sat and passed the ICF credentialing exam today, as the final step in becoming an ICF credentialed coach! Drawing on my extensive exam-prep experience from my actuarial education days, I made sure to: ✅ be well prepared for the exam; ✅ get a good night's sleep beforehand, and ✅ breathe and let my brain do its work on the day. I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from International Coaching Federation! #coach #acc #lifelonglearning #coaching #actuarial
