“Are you a factory or a trading company?” Here’s how to answer this question… Most Chinese suppliers respond with something like this: “We’re a [factory/trading company]. We offer [list of benefits]. Here’s a video introduction about our company.” But that’s not effective, for a few reasons: - You don’t know what benefits matter most to your prospect. - Your answer sounds just like everyone else’s. - They don't want to read/watch a generic company introduction. Here’s a better approach: Think about WHY they’re asking. It’s likely they’ve had bad experiences with suppliers before. So ask: “Sounds like you’ve had a bad experience with trading companies?” Then listen carefully, ask follow-up questions, and dig deeper into their concerns. Once you understand their specific issues, customize your response to show exactly how you solve those problems. This way, you’ll build trust, stand out from competitors, and increase your chances of securing an order - whether you’re a factory or a trading company.
