Before things get super busy later this month, on Wednesday I plan to bike down to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It'll be about 60-odd miles from Portland, Maine and I plan to do it in about 5 hours (plus an hour for lunch and small breaks). Why, you ask? Well, 1) I like to challenge myself and see what I can do outside my comfort zone. 2) I find biking a great way to get to know geography. 3) It'll be step 2 in a 3 step goal of riding down to Boston over two 60+ mile days. 4) It might be the last chance I get this year before New England freezes over for the winter. Why am I posting this on LinkedIn? Because you (we) are more than our jobs / careers / professions. There are interesting things about each and every one of us that has nothing to do with our chosen vocation. May we all find inspiration and wonder outside of our job titles.

Came across a post that reminded me that 2025 features not one, not two, but SIX long weekends! By utilising just 7 days of annual leave, you can actually get a total of 29 days off. Here’s a reminder for you to plan ahead, especially if you have children or commitments. Book flights and accommodations in advance to save $$ and make the most of your time off. Happy planning! _________ Connect @ Sharifah Hani Yasmin for career tips, job opportunities and scholarships information!
