Interesting study.
Among other findings, it should be noted that test centers are evolving. Originally, the test centres developed their activities by supporting drone tests. The study observed a clear expansion of the technological portfolio tested, reflecting the evolution of the market. In particular, we can observe that users are testing U-space services (62%), C-UAS (59%), CNS (52%) and integration with ATM (52%).
🌐 🚀 Europe boasts a robust network of well-equipped and professional test centers, according to a recent study conducted by EUROCONTROL. These centers provide designated, safe, and structured areas for manufacturers and operators, serving both State and civil applications and facilitating accelerated market readiness for unmanned aircraft systems. These activities facilitate Flagship Action 14 in the European Drone Strategy 2.0 regarding “an EU network on civil-defense drone testing centers to facilitate exchanges between civilian and defense sectors.” Additionally, test centers offer a unique opportunity for institutions to stay ahead of technical and operational trends while shaping regulations, concepts of operations, and processes.
