Here I share some reflections on a GQ article I read on Martin Scorcese, his challenges with loneliness and how we can use our loneliness to create impactful art. #filmmaking #filmmakers https://lnkd.in/gK6qFvXP

Great story of the matrix and its status quo loop ... Dinner for Few | Animated short film by Nassos Vakalis https://lnkd.in/eK69rtS5 What do you think the fake mouse presents in the story? Share your answers in the comment below. Happy to see there is no woman at the table yet! That is probably why the loop still exists! That is a good luck sign! Great business opportunities are ahead in disguise. Have you noticed that the hotel doesn't have a gym! Those who are at the table don't have a purpose or life. As usual, we keep our fingers crossed and stay bold beautifully. 🙂 #simplifiedmarketing #intelligentinvestment #profitablebrandgrowth #simpleenergyresources #beautynews #energyresources #simpleAIs #sunnyeenews #sunnyresources

A few days ago I was at an event for young filmmakers like myself. It was arranged by some friends that I have known since my high school years where I used to make more animated short films and participated in filmfestivals more regulary than now because I became too busy with my environmental engineering studies and personal struggles. Although it was a social event, the event was also meant as a way to meet other filmmakers and hereby establish a bigger network within the business. Of course, I chose to become a civil engineer since I was concerned about not making a decent living if I became an animator or an animation director since I was told by a Danish animation producer in 9th grade that life as a professional animator can be penniless in Denmark. Therefore I have just kept animation as a hobby but nonetheless I would still participate at such events considering the current animation project I am working on and that I perhaps could expand my network to find others who could assist me with music, certain voices etc. that I am unable to do make myself. I even met some old and new friends so I did not regret going. I for instance met a woman who was studying animation at The Danish Film School to become an animation director which made her the opposite of me. At the event I for some reason had an unusual feeling with me being an engineer while the others pursued careers that was more aligned with the creative business of filmmaking. I guess I felt a little shame for me not being able to complete a new animated short film in the past 5 years because of my studies and the personal struggles that made it too difficult to make animation for a long time. I know there was no reason for me to be ashamed of the path I took. I also remember that there are many cases of people who have studied at universities while they either made artistic activities in their sparetime or pursued a career in them after graduating in something totally different. The best example I can think of is Rowan Atkinson. Most of us probably know him as the British actor and comedian who created and played Mr. Bean. Besides being an actor and comedian, Rowan Atkinson is also an electrical engineer who got his master degree from Oxford but also made drama and comedy sketches in his sparetime while studying. As far as I know, he has not worked professionally as an engineer after he graduated but has mostly pursued his career as an actor and comedian. It does seem a little funny that the actor behind a childish buffoon like Mr. Bean, is a highly intelligent individual and academic. With Rowan Atkinson in mind, it could be fun if I all of a sudden became a well-paid full-time animation artist. I doubt it will happen and I also still look for engineering jobs. For the financial security, I do not regret becoming an engineer. https://lnkd.in/dhuWrx-m

I am beyond proud to have played a role in representing commercial partnerships for The Glassworker, Pakistan's first hand-drawn animated feature film. This film is a monumental achievement, and I’m excited to share this 90-minute documentary that showcases the relentless passion that brought this vision to life. While I’ve known about Usman Riaz for years, my admiration for him soared as we worked together on the buildup to the film’s Pakistan launch. His drive and focus on creating something truly original has set a new benchmark. Despite all odds, The Glassworker continues to shine in cinemas, earning well-deserved appreciation. Usman embodies the principle of 'work first, promote later', a mindset we desperately need in Pakistan, where early promotion often overshadows the substance of creation. His journey of turning the 'impossible' into reality is a story that transcends the film itself—it’s a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we dedicate ourselves fully to our craft. This is not just the success of a film, it’s the beginning of a new era of creativity, original thought, and a mindset shift. I hope The Glassworker inspires others to break boundaries, think bigger, and dream bolder. A special acknowledgment goes to Geo Network led by Mir Ibrahim, whose partnership with The Glassworker was groundbreaking. Geo didn’t just become a classic 'media partner', they redefined how films in Pakistan should be promoted. Even after 17 years in this industry, I can say with confidence that the promotion strategy Geo crafted for this film is a master class in it self. “DREAMS” follows my journey of self-realisation, how dreams can and will change, and how it’s okay that they do so. For my Documentaries and Reality 1 and 2 classes at The Los Angeles Film School, we had to pitch a 3-8 minute micro-documentary, which, if approved, we could produce. My pitch was greenlit, and here’s the result:
