As I scroll through my LinkedIn feed today, I notice many professionals celebrating Labor Day, prompting a question: Are your companies still solely focused on the foundational principles of labor rights, from safe and decent working conditions, fair wages, to the eight-hour workday? or Are your companies upgraded to play a crucial role in promoting work-life balance by offering flexible work arrangements, nurturing a supportive work culture, and encouraging employees to prioritize their well-being? Happy Labor Day!! #LaborDay #WorkLifeBalance #FlexibleWork #SupportiveCulture #EmployeeWellBeing

Bernie Sanders wants to reduce the work-week to 4 days and 32 hours; I think that’s an absolutely terrible idea. He calls out workers are 400% more productive now than the 1940’s. And uses France’s 35 hour work week as the reference. Yeah, let's be France - they're heroes on the world stage! Everyone is NOT created equal. We need to empower people with reward based incentives; this proposal is the complete opposite. We are failing the people of this great country by not inspiring and motivating because the system is not built for standouts - it's built for the lowest common denominator. This isn't about working to death and not having a work life balance. It’s about the opportunity that work can afford you if and when you’re given the right incentive. If 32 or 40hrs doesn’t change the output of the worker, then aren’t we focusing on the wrong problem. We need to grow our economy out of this $35Trillion dollar problem by increasing output and spending less, not mandating a cutoff but rather motivating leaders to charge ahead faster. We are spending $1Trillion every 100 days. Our government is the most wasteful entity in the world; fact - not opinion. If there’s one thing we can do, it’s to get out the way of someone’s want and willingness to change their position. The more safety nets you put up, the more mandates of work you restrict, we reduce the ability for those who want to stand out, to overcome their peers. If government officials were given bonuses on how much output their departments produced and how efficient their spend, we’d be living in a whole different economy. Instead, we the people sit idle while bureaucrats make decisions on our behalf that have no impact to our quality of life. If you think a mandated 32 hour work week is smart, you’re missing the point. America used to mean opportunity. Maybe that's the problem, America no longer stands for something.... I'm not ready to believe that. https://lnkd.in/eKu2Riwz

52% of employees reported that they do not take all of the time off that they are offered, and most of those employees wanted to take the time off but chose not to. When this choice becomes a habit, it increases the risk of employee unhappiness and burnout! One powerful tool that can ensure employees get the time off they need is: Paid Holidays. Research more about company holidays in our blog via the link, and also email us at [email protected] to learn more about your workplace's feelings on work-life balance and paid time off! https://smpl.is/9bhr6 #AmazingWorkplace #TheEmployeeHappinessCompany #humanresources #HR #employeeretention #getcertified #companyculture #business #employeehappiness #surveys #employeehappinesssurvey

Let’s talk about making work work for families. Offering family-friendly leave and flexibility isn’t just a perk—it’s becoming essential for keeping employees happy and engaged. Did you know that over 60% of workers say they’re more likely to stay with a company that gets this right? Some simple ideas? Salary sacrifice schemes, job shares, and flexible start times. These small changes can make a big difference. How’s your workplace stacking up? Let's chat about the creative ways we can support working parents and make flexibility the new norm. #HRTuesday #FamilyFirst #FlexibilityMatters #WorkLifeBalance #KeepItReal

‘More than anything, Rep. Takano notes that the more attention the issue gets, the better. He says change will likely come through more than just legislative means, including via private business and labor unions. For instance, the United Auto Workers proposed a 32-hour workweek as part of their bargaining agreement last year, although it was ultimately not included in the final contract. And, just as Henry Ford led the change to a five-day workweek in the early 1900s, there are business leaders today who are championing a shorter workweek.’ “Moving from a 40 hour workweek norm to a new norm of 32 hours is also cultural,” says Rep. Takano. “It’s an idea that people are embracing, and I feel like there is a cultural force that’s out there. We can create a new norm together, collectively.” 4 Day Work Week Canada 4 Day Week - Global WorkFour — The National Campaign for the 4-Day Workweek #4dayworkweek #4dayweek #fourdayworkweek #fourdayweek #32hours #burnout #productivity #futureofwork

I came across an interesting article proposing a 4-day workweek bill. While I can certainly see the potential work/life balance benefits, I also understand the need for serious consideration on who exactly this would benefit and who it may negatively affect. It's important to weigh the pros and cons and strategize different solutions to mitigate any negative impacts. https://lnkd.in/eCWeaukP
