Folks, In my latest article for the #Firstpost, I write about #INSVidyut, the splendid, silent performer of the 1971 War. Link 👇🏻 https://lnkd.in/dgKTkitx Using detailed references & first person accounts, I argue that the INS Vidyut (the earlier Osa Class) played an important role in the war. While not anyone's fault, the ship has, arguably, not got her due in history chronicles or popular narratives. Hopefully, this article will add to our conversations on the Navy in the 1971 war.

This is an excellent, short video emphasizing the importance of the merchant marine in peace and war.
Credit to Midshipman Brian Son, 2/c, Regimental Public Affairs Officer, on the video production and Midshipman Geoffrey Gumport, 2/c, on the narration of this video highlighting National Maritime Day. Great job gentlemen! THANK YOU to ALL Merchant Mariners, past, present, and future on this National Maritime Day. We have a full day of activities planned to celebrate Merchant Mariners this Wednesday, culminating with a wreath laying at the war memorial and Midshipmen Appreciation Day.

Intelligent commentary from former Canadian ambassaors to Russia, Jeremy Kinsman, Ralph Lysyshynand John Sloand as we talk about what Alexei Navalny represented, what is next for Putin and Russia, the effect of sanctions, whether the West, Ukraine and Russia are ready for a forever war and how it might end, and what more can Canada do to help Ukraine.
As the #UkraineRussiaWar enters its third year, we must take stock of several grim realities, such as the death of Alexei Navalny. Jeremy Kinsman, Ralph Lysyshyn, and John Sloan join Colin Robertson to consider the implications of the second anniversary of the war on the latest #GlobalExchange. The 4th of July is a time not only for fireworks and barbecues but for deep reflection on the freedoms we enjoy. From the perspective of a Marine, this day resonates with a profound sense of duty and pride. It's a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us, ensuring our ability to live freely and uphold the ideals on which our great nation was founded. Let's honor this day by remembering the courage, commitment, and camaraderie of United States Service Members and Veterans. Every burst of fireworks in the sky reminds us of the fiery spirit of those who fought and continue to fight for our liberty. This Independence Day, let's renew our commitment to those principles and remember our responsibility to continue the legacy of freedom. 🎃Happy Halloween from Marine Corps Systems Command! 👻 🎃Alright, Marines – Halloween’s here, and while we’re all about trick-or-treating, we’re on a mission to keep things safe and fun for our Corps families. Whether you’re on base or in the neighborhood, let’s make sure Halloween stays tactical and safe with these mission-ready tips: Visibility Check: Just like our gear, costumes need visibility! Add some glow sticks or reflective tape so your little goblins are in plain sight for drivers. Squad Up: No solo missions! Trick-or-treating is safest in a group – kids should stay with adults or a buddy team. Route Recon: Set the course ahead of time. Plot out a safe route for the kids or walk alongside. Candy Intel: After the candy op, do a thorough inspection. Every treat should pass the “good to go” test before they dig in. 🦇Let’s keep this Halloween on target and fun for everyone. Share these tips with your fellow Marines and have a frightfully safe night. Semper Fi & Happy Haunting! #EquippingOurMarines #MCSC #Halloween #SafetyFirst #Marines #Boo
