Excessive #packaging creates a vast amount of waste. This is one of the reasons why the EU has developed the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). 📦 By placing new requirements on all packaging coming to the market starting 2030, the #PPWR will transform packaging throughout Europe, aiming to reduce waste and its impact on the environment. In our latest #FritzForFuture podcast episode, Janine and Carsten Bertram, Head of Packaging Sustainability at Henkel, explore how these regulations will reduce environmental impact, transform packaging practices, and change our shopping experience.
Very informative discussion! I appreciated your insights, particularly on the impacts PPWR will have on the luxury industry and the opportunities it presents for rebranding and innovation. I wonder whether Henkel is looking at paper alternatives to plastic to increase product recyclability? I know some larger European and UK-based companies are considering this. Of major concern is the impact this could have on forests and the need for robust corporate policies that ensure vital forests don’t end up in packaging.
I strongly recommend this podcast since it will bring you lot’s of insights from my very knowledgeable, professional and passionate colleague Carsten Bertram together with Janine Steeger .
Great initiative and highly relevant upskilling for all of us!
