Excessive #packaging creates a vast amount of waste. This is one of the reasons why the EU has developed the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). 📦 By placing new requirements on all packaging coming to the market starting 2030, the #PPWR will transform packaging throughout Europe, aiming to reduce waste and its impact on the environment. Thanks Richard Tyszkiewicz & NordSIP for this opportunity to discuss the new EU packaging legislation and how should asset managers use their money to support the right transition. It is true that investing in reuse solutions is not as straightforward as investing on material substitution. Traditional investors lack the information and tools as to why single-use paper is not any better than single-use plastic packaging or when/how reuse makes sense. If any investor is reading this I would be interested to know what kind of information would be of help? Is there any good (updated) guidance out there for investors on packaging sustainability?
