5 Things to Know - Point 1) Nvidia Delivers the Most Important Earnings Report of All-Time: DKI Takeaway: Nvidia’s incredible performance is masking an inconsistent stock market. While the indexes are at all-time highs, most companies aren’t participating in the rally. Because the S&P 500 is capitalization weighted, the performance of a few mega-cap tech firms has created one of the narrowest stock rallies in history. However, some bears are comparing $NVDA with Cisco ($CSCO) during the internet boom of the late ‘90s. While both companies are selling the “picks and shovels” for a growing market, I don’t think it’s the right comparison. Cisco was selling servers to money-losing firms with no business plan. Nvidia is selling to massive high-growth tech firms with huge amounts of free cash flow. Would you rather sell to Google or to Pets.com? Barcelona, Spain, June 20, 2024 – TD SYNNEX (SNX), a global distributor and solutions aggregator for the IT ecosystem, today announced the extension of its Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The renewed agreement builds on the significant momentum of the initial SCA, with TD SYNNEX achieving additional AWS competencies, and increasing capacity to support its partners in strengthening their AWS practices and driving business growth.   As a result of the renewed SCA, TD SYNNEX will increase the capacity of its dedicated AWS solutions team, with technical and services expertise in its regional centre of excellence alongside dedicated business development resources for its AWS public sector program. I told my friend that Microsoft gave me an award, and here was his response: He picked it up, looked at it for about 5 seconds, and asked, ‘’Do you work for them? What did you do? Wow, this must be expensive!" In my head, I thought, Yeah, Microsoft—the tech giant we all know. His reaction made me realize the significance of this achievement. It’s not just any award; it’s a reflection of a competitive space that requires advocacy, perseverance, and grit. His response made me pause and appreciate how far I've come. I told him, "It’s really just human effort. I often tell my peers they’re too lazy, and to be honest, Gen Zs can be lazy. Not because we lack potential, but because we’re often too distracted by everything happening around us—technology, entertainment, the comfort of our routines." There are still opportunities out there—nominations flying around—but many ignore them, preoccupied with daily distractions. When you're hooked on the latest series streaming, it's easy to overlook things like this. We joked a bit about the award breaking and the cost to replace it, but at the end of the day, I’m deeply grateful. Thank you, Microsoft for the recognition and for pushing me to strive further.
