A #recruiting tale of a small world 😊 I used to hire engineering managers at Google, I was tapping into a pool of over 100+ managers from Amazon, trying to make them #interview & #join the 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞. Ironically, in the midst of these effort, I received an #offer to join Amazon myself. Suddenly, some of the candidates I had been pursuing became my hiring managers. The looks on their faces during our first video call were #priceless— 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐰𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. I remembered our previous conversations; some candidates (& now hiring managers) were already #interviewing, others were preparing before considering the move, and a few had shared reasons for their job change, in details which is not to be shared here 😃 . Building rapport with them was a hilarious journey in itself. A few brave souls even dared to ask the ultimate question: "So, Google vs. Amazon—what's your take?" Of course, I had to dodge that bullet thinking that if I say anything, I might not have a #job at either place! 😅 #expereince #recruiting #amazon #google #engineeringmanager #jobchange #hiringmanager #candidates #career #hiring

Going from a Tier 3 college and a service-based company to Amazon is one of the biggest milestones in my career!❤️ Sharing the Amazon SDE Interview Process in detail for those aspiring to join: 📌 *Round 1 - Online Coding Assessment:* Consisted of two coding questions on two-pointers and graphs. I had to explain the time complexity and the approach taken to solve the problems. 📌 *Round 2 - DSA Round:* Had to solve a graph problem (medium-hard) and another medium-level problem. I solved both within an hour. 📌 *Round 3 - DSA Round:* Tackled a DP on trees problem and a heaps-based question, solving both successfully. Received feedback within 30 minutes. 📌 *Round 4 - Bar Raiser Round:* Faced two DSA problems and in-depth questions about my projects and current work. This round lasted 1.5 hours. 📌 *Round 5 - Hiring Managerial Round:* Focused on behavioral questions, OS, system design, computer networks, and my projects. The journey to Amazon wasn't easy. My resume was not getting shortlisted and I lacked proper guidance😓 So, if your situation is similar to mine and you’re not able to crack PBCs, try reaching out to a senior engineer from your target company for guidance. You can connect with them on a free strategy call here: https://lnkd.in/dCyHHTgc These experienced engineers at Preplaced will guide you end-to-end on your interview preparation journey - from the resume, upskilling, and mock interviews to referrals, they’ll make sure you land your dream job. #hiring Among the many things I learned at Amazon, one of the most important was how to build the right team. It all came down to one interesting hiring principle: "𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙛 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡". At ENSO Business Consulting, we follow the same principle. We believe: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙚. For the past couple of months, we have been searching for Amazon Performance Marketing specialists. We interacted with several candidates. For some, we weren't the right fit; others weren't the right fit for the role. But if you trust the process and persist with it long enough, you usually find success. And we did. We've closed on one position. Yet, with a fast-growing business, we have even more room on the team. If you are keen on working as an 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 (1-4 years of experience handling Amazon business for clients), we have different roles to suit your experience. My Amazon Bangalore interview experience for L5 Software role. I have given Amazon interviews in Jan-2022. Here’s my interview experience (and result): 🗺️ The process: 1️⃣ Message from recruiter on LinkedIn in Dec 2021. 2️⃣ Asked for 15 days of preparation time. 3️⃣ 3 Coding rounds. 4️⃣ 2 System Design rounds. 5️⃣ 1 Behavioral round. 🎢 The interview breakdown: 1️⃣ Coding round 1: A linked list cycle problem and mirror a Binary tree. Easy-Medium difficulty, was able to solve both with edge cases. 2️⃣ Coding round 2: Add two numbers given in form of Linked List. I gave the brute and optimal solution. This was my best round as i have not solved similar problem earlier 3️⃣ Coding round 3: Reverse Linked List in group of K, with some additional edge case Medium difficulty. 4️⃣ System Design round 1: Was asked to design an home based Audio/Video monitoring system. 5️⃣ System Design round 2: This was more of an LRU cache system, with some additional constrain. 6️⃣ Leadership round: Behavioral and leadership questions. - Had 2 rounds with 2 different hiring mangers. Prepared commonly asked questions and examples from my experience few days before this round and that really helped. 🎯 Result: After a week of waiting, I was informed that my interview feedback is positive, Offer was accepted and later I joined Amazon after serving my notice period in Qualcomm in the month of April🛫. Overall, I found Amazon interview problems really interesting and challenging to solve. One of the best interview processes that I went through in my career that opened paths for my entry to FAANG 😎 📚 Few tips for a successful interview: - Clarify your doubts before you start coding. - Aim to get the correct solution first, then focus on optimization. - Communicate your thoughts though out the interview. - Don't ignore Leadership and behavioral questions. Follow Gurtaj S. for future update. I am planning to cover my career journey and the hiccups/best practices for others Photo credit: Yagyesh Tripathi #SoftwareEngineering #careergrowth

Amazon and Google Reviews help users decide whether they want to buy a product. Introducing Hiring Reviews! We at the Job Applicant Perspective think job applicants deserve a way to safely and anonymously, but also publicly talk in detail about what they liked, or didn't like about a hiring process. This can help other job applicants decide whether they want to participate in that process too. The silent and often silenced stakeholder in modern hiring deserves a chance to have a voice that shakes the foundations of modern hiring to its core and makes it work better for everyone involved. Check out The Job Applicant Perspective on LinkedIn or visit our webpage and scroll down to share your story and talk - anonymously but openly - about your experience of a hiring process. #jobseekers #career #jobs #interviewtips #applicants4applicants #empowerapplicants
