99% of new businesses fail because of this reason. And it's not due to lack of experience. It's rigidity. Often, founders create a business plan and stick to it rigidly, ignoring the specific needs of their business. The market is always changing, and being too rigid can be a big mistake. You need to be able to change and be ready to adapt when the need arises. I believe success is never a straight line. You have to keep changing and coming up with new ideas to survive and succeed. #GrowthMindset #MarketTrends #StartupLife

There's a time in most founders' journeys where the service dynamic between vision and business flips, and I don't think the challenge of this is talked about enough. Anyone that starts a business does so with a vision. A vision for a better world, or a problem that can be solved, or a different lifestyle for themselves. The business starts in service of that vision, to make it a reality. But, most of the time, there reaches a point where that dynamic flips. The business is no longer in service of the vision, the founder is in service of what the business has become. This can be because of overwhelm, investor pressure, macro-economic influences, or simply losing sight of WHY it all started. But the challenge is that it's nigh on impossible to see the wood for the trees when you're in it. This service dynamic is an area I'm so passionate about. Because helping founders spot it and recalibrate it will lead to greater happiness, fulfilment and results for founders, their teams and their businesses. If you're a founder and any of this resonates, drop me a note. I'd love your perspective on it.

4 Scaling Mistakes That Could Sink Your Business: Are You Making Them? I've been there. Multiple times. Each venture taught me hard lessons about when and how to scale. Here's what I've learned: 🔸 The Gut Check You know it's time when: • You're turning away good business • Your team is stretched thin, but hungry for more • That nagging voice says, "We could be so much bigger" 🔸 The Reality Check Scaling isn't just doing more. It's transforming: • Your systems (automate or die) • Your team (hire for where you're going, not where you are) • Yourself (the hardest part) I once tried scaling too soon. It nearly broke me – and the company. 🔸 The Heart Check Success comes down to: • Believing in your vision fiercely • Trusting your team completely • Being willing to fail publicly (and often) 🤦♂️ My biggest mistake? Thinking I had to have all the answers. The truth is, scaling is a team sport. It's about empowering others to rise with you. ❓ Do you have other mistakes to add to this list? Put them in the comments below 👇 #ScalingUp #EntrepreneurLife #LeadershipJourney -- Please repost ♻️ to your network so more people can learn, and follow me, Johnny Hartsfield for more content like this!

“Why should someone care about your business?” If you can’t answer that in a sentence, don’t worry—you’re not alone. Most startups focus on what they do instead of why it matters. Here’s a quick exercise: Write down your “why.” What inspired you to start this business? Was it a gap you saw in the market? A personal experience that motivated you? Start with that spark, and you’ll uncover the heart of your story. Storytelling is where small businesses win big. It’s not about flashy visuals or viral campaigns; it’s about authenticity. Why did you start this business? What problem are you solving? Who are the people behind the scenes making it all happen? Here’s something to think about: Your audience doesn’t just want to know what you do. They want to know why you do it. To quote Shaun, "What’s your story?" Let’s uncover it together.
